Like I said, the comment was no biggie... for the majority of us anyways. Though for those that are disabled, or handicapped, it could be a huge deal. (Notice I never commented on the thread where the original comment was posted, because the comment itself was not that big of a deal) . Now if you view it from the eyes of those which he insulted, it may very well be a big deal to them. This guy called him out on it because he was offended.. to make it "even" in this man's eyes Obama owes him a match, and he is right, he should give him that match to make up for his shortsightedness.
He is the leader of our country, If he had made a demeaning comment about asians, hispanics, native americans people would have been up in arms about it. If he were caucasion and made such a comment about african americans would be rioting. But it is okay for the leader of our country to insult the handicapped on public television? Well I guess it's okay unless someone takes offense, and in this case they did. Now he has to face these people and right his wrong, just as anyone else should do. Just because he is president does not mean his wormpoo doesn't stink. Show the nation what it really means to be a man and step up to the plate to accept responsibility for your actions Mr. President. He has been called out, and instead of just taking his vacation as planned he should make time to give this man a bowling match. To this man it is a matter of honor, Obama should understand that.
Have a sense of humor. We've all told someone they should be in the special olympics, or riding the short bus, probably on this very forum.
Oh yea I am very guilty of this, never said I wasn't. Though I am not the president, and I did not do so on television. And yea If they called me out on it, it would be my responsibility to right the wrong. At least that was how I was raised. I was raised that an apology means nothing unless you right the wrong. To right the wrong in this mans eyes, Obama owes him a match. Once he has done that, the apology can be accepted.
