    The death penalty is harsh in TCoS...

    When killing mobs, you build up PEP (Personal Experience Points). When you die, you loose a whole elvel of PEP.

    Then what does PEP do..? PEP reaches a maximum level of 5. Each level of PEP boosts your walking/running speed, fighting abilities and that sort of things. Basicly PEP makes you stronger along the way (a lot stronger!). Drawback is that gaining PEP is extremely slow. When my char reached level 10, it only was halfway PEP level 2 (having died only once in PEP 1). My max PEP was a bit over 3 and that was around level 14 or so...

    So is there a need to group? you know that thing that people used to do in mmorpgs?

    Solo = boring imho.

    So if grouping is best ill give it a test.

    I wsh someone would make an "original EQ1" with todays gfx /sigh.

    There's a real need for grouping in TCoS. Of course, there are  lots of quest that you can do solo, butthere are also a huge number that need to be done in groups.

    With that, when you enter PvP area, you'd better not go alone, unless you want to be ganked...

    id say group up for anything and everything,it makes much more sense seeing as practically all classes get some very good group buffs and itll take you much less longer to actually kill anything. even level 1 mobs take a beating,especially if theyre in a pack.

    the menaces youll most likely need to group for anyway,as will you for several quests in the stater zones such as bandit camps and raptor caves.
