Your from KK aren't you? :P Played Neocron (first MMORP) enjoyed it, but found the community unhelpful and full of Counterstrikers....won't try a FPS based mmorp again.
Idea was good, badly executed...I suggest trying EVE, small developer, great game, great community, and great implementation.
This guys comments are certainly over the top, but I tell you there are 20+ dames listed on this site and this is the only game in which several people post about how corrupt the game is...they all can't be hackers and just hyping. The developers/publishers obviously have a poor ubderstanding and respect for busssiness ethics and responsiblities and anyone thinking about purchasing this game should really reconsider.
I play Dome of York for a month now on Terra, and most of the negative comments i cant follow. First - the games runs well on my AMD WinXP machine with nivida 5600... Maybe some need get a newer computer or reinstall their software. I seldom have crashes. Not more or less I had in Horizons, AO, and much less than the hell of lag and dc i had with Lineage1. The community so far been helpful and when I meet someone in preferred hunting grounds they mostly team up. Didnt meet any stupid nerd or crazy killer kid so far which supposed to be around. And its a fact - i still learn the game and wont take out the No-PvP chip before i feel im ready. Then Ill know which clan to join and fighting will start ;o) If u dont like the genre - dont play it. Go on to elvish boredom (Im sick of elves, orcs and all that other crap I've been in for the last years). I love Hacknet and Droning (they have a very good policy of working eventwise on some issues like Drones at the moment to improve gamplay and get rid of bugs!).
So thats my comment... If u dont like dont play - other ppl should try - Its different and fun. And good is, as I am a casual player (max 1 hour day) I still lvl quite well (in my opinion). Ppl help with imlants and tips...what else could I whish (oh yeah - better quest - some still not upgraded - thats a point that sux).
you will notice those players when you take your LE chip out cos they will hand you your ass when ever they can.
its good you kept your LE in saves you getting pissed of early on
me personally i liek the game but im suffering from vetern syndrome, i remember how the game used to be when it was massive fun for me, and proberbly for Demon-surge up there with his CRC crew.
im not playing the game atm, but still watching it, see how it develops, if they start moving more in the right direction to what i like ill be back playing

Whats up with every neocron player hanging onto it like this? If you went to the same coffee shop every day for over 2 years, and every day they said TOMMORROW WE WILL HAVE RAISEN BRAN MUFFINS! And every day you went back and they DIDN'T have those muffins, wouldn't you get the picture and not go back? I played Lineage 1 for 2,5 years. Its supposed to be the biggest MMORPG which has been around for years now. No game where player hate the game and the company (check all the different open forums ;o)). I like the genre and the ppl there and so far its fun. So I keep going and I know it will be OK till i quit some day (took me far to long to quit Lin- my pledge (clan) in a way kept me there and I still somtimes log on thru a friends acct.). Ther is no ideal mmorpg out, like there were no Mercedes SLK in 1920 ;o)
And, yeah, its great to fight with drones and Energy Weapons or hack the Hacknet for some Blueprints. I like that much more than Lineage, Horizons, AO (darn that Skill and Construction thingy was irritating and didnt like ppl very much). I really liked and miss the carnivor hunt prey in Saga of Ryzom.
So enjoy the game u are in, try to complain upon encountered issues so they fix it. But dont whine or wonder why ppls stay in a game. its their decision. And their friends. (Btw what I dont like in most mmorpg that its hard to keep up with the 24/7 if u play 1 hour a day max. In Neocron its much easier to close in on maxing if u get help than in all the other mmorpg - oh I hated the harvest boredom in Horizons).

Erm, no. I think you'll find they do a shit job. They don't care about the people who play the game, they don't fix bugs, and when servers go wrong they just shrug their shoulders. If I took a shit and told it to run a game, it would do a better job than KK.

the concepts behind neo was amazing to say the least, psi, tanks etc, i played six monthes. but after several nasty episodes with errors, latency, zero support, patches that made the game worst, i gave up.
then came doy, a major patch to a majorly flawed game. there is no neo2. it is a nice idea and a nice catch title. but its is essiantly neo 1 with a few add ons and no perks.
personally bad management... there are places in the world that cant even access the game due to reakktors strange and odd choice of click to pray pay system. the c2p is basically a porn and gambling pay program.. ironic, since you are gambling with a flawed game with digital porn...
I started the open beta...1 month before it finished. It was complete and utter...crap. Well it was allright but the thing was that it was a bit battered...and then they took it to retail in germany.
I was like WTF?? omg i mean the game was so buggy...how on earth could they release a game just like that? Anywayz...as soon as the beta was finished i kept playing...until i created a new tank
this french dude asked me to make a clan wid him in DRE. This is one of the smaller factions so i decided to spend all my money to convert.
After converting he asked me to give him half the money to make the clan...i said no and said i would only give it 2 sumbody i trust. We both gave the money to a GM (german) and he bought the clankey for us....and handed it to the french dude.
Of course this is were my story ends becoz the french dude...as i feared ran off with the clankey leaving me penniless...i got really angry and uninstalled the game straight.
It was a buggy game anywayz...but the community is really messed up. I took out my LE for this guy once to join his clan...and guess what? he killed me...this happened to me all the time
i hate that game and i hope it and its followers burn in hell

Not trying to devalidate your post but I did. Decided I was gonna stick it out and get it and see how I like it a few months down the road. Went out, bought it for $5.99 off the losers shelf in a local shop and went to install it only to have a bad key. Ok FINE, this happens (gritting my teeth as the word "Atari" comes to mind) so I contacted support. VERY fast response back, and from a REAL person, one EAGER to help me. It was wonderful, unfortunetly key code distribution was handled by another company, their distributor and they would have to contact them, then contact me with a new key once they get a response back. Well, the support person checked in with me often, she had too, since over a week past and the other company wouldn't send her my new key, nor give her a response. Finally I just gave up on it. There was no way I was going to pay anyone in this nightmare my money if I couldnt even get a key code working in a timely fashion.
As for in game? Wasn't bad, the game has a very salty learning curve when you start, but I am sure I would have figured it out sooner or later. Oh, and graphics were decent on it, EXCEPT the female character model, what was someone thinkin??
Anyways, my point is, the trial may not give you everything you need to know to make a judgement about the game.
