It is crashing hard. I do not think it will last much lnoger. The people in the government right now are complete idiots. Seriously...something has to give soon and omg...I hate them all.

I have more faith in our people than that. America isn't going anywhere, Our officals might, but "We the people" don't give up that easy. Sure things are rough, but we haven;t even began to put up a fight yet .. don't worry it will come, where I come from we don;t just lay down and take it, we go down fighting. Cowards cut and run WE never do.

I don't hold on to faith hun, I was raised by marines. Holding onto hoplessness gets you nothing, solves nothing. I was raised when the ^%#$# hits the fan you react, you do whatever it takes to take control of the situation and solve the problems. That is what people do, not lay down and cry. Pull your head out and get some backbone lol. I am not willing to give up that easy and neither should you.
The people will still be here doing whatever we need to...the government can go take a flying leap for all I care. Dev is right, we're a very strong peoples and we don't just curl up in a corner and die. BTW I have to go to the gun shop tomorrow and pick up a new 9mm Beretta. I have a 40 cal pistol and urban assault rifle - yes I own guns. I am getting the 9mm since its rounds are so much easier to get.
I wish to be prepared should worse come to worse. I also just like to shoot.

I myself think mankind will have a much bigger chance of surviving without America, but I wouldn't say that on this forum where 99% are from USA, wouldn't make me very popular, not to mention I would be forced to explain why. We need to relax, take a deep breath, and remind ourselves of our history. Every citizen, whether born here and naturalized, is required to assume the history of the United States. Unlike, say, France, where if you become a French citizen, you really are not French. When you become a citizen of the United States, there is not question that you are a citizen of the United States, even if you are (or were) French! It is something we should be proud of.
Even more, we should be proud of the dedication of those honorable citizens who came before us to ensure that we were a nation of laws, of liberty, and ideals. The least we can do is honor them by being the best citizens we can be, which is really what liberty is all about. The opportunity to be the best person you can be. We should participate in our own institutions, improve ourselves individually, volunteer, and participate in the political process.
The American people should participate more and have a greater say in the direction of a great nation; its greatest requires a responsible, law-loving, entrepreneurial, innovative, honest, fair, and hard-working citizenry. And we have that.

OMG come on...we're on this rock together. America isn't the only country right now that is hurting and no one country is the best. We all are great, its our governments and the people in power that suck!
I can assure you, there will be no rioting and looting in MY neighborhood. Yea that is right because it's mine. I would just simply call up a few of my former coworkers , we gather up what we need from the pharmacies and clinic and handle them the same way we handled them at the hospital.. knock yo az out! lmao If we can handle people comin off of morphine, we can handle anything.
America is the world's only Super Power. Although we have seen the only other Super Power (Soviet Union) collasped, America has a free economy and government (ok, free in the most part, there always needs to be some form of control). If an economic collaspe occurs, we'll get through it as we have done before, along with other crisises (Civil War, Great Drepession). Make preparations should hyper-inflation occurs or a lost personal income.
America will still be around and as a first world nation.
When to worry about the end of the US or of its downfall, I would say would be when energy production/delivery is no longer able to keep up with its consumption (or to say, dries up). As it stands, the US only has 8 years of oil supply based on its current consumption. The 8 year supply has been the number for some time now (I believe for over 20 years), somehow or someway America keeps finding new oil.
And that is why...

Back around 1998, I told my roomie at the time that I thought the US had until around 2010, give or take 2 years, before it devolved into something that might still have the same name, but would no longer retain the spirit of what the USA once was (to put it roughly).
Sadly, nothing that's happened in the past decade or so has surprised me. Some things have taken longer to happen than I expected, but by-and-large, the debasement has gone on as I expected. When the last few pillars that hold up the foundation crumble under the weight of our greed, stupidity, and selfishness, the collapse will happen fairly quickly.
This, too, shall pass.

As long as the US recognizes unalienable rights endowed by our Creator and continues realization of rights being recognized through the constitution then we shall continue.
If we value self-reliance and free approach by a free peoples then we shall be strong.
It will have to be an ideal that ultimately brings this nation down. We are more than physical landmass, flags, and symbols.

So, when is America becoming the most free society in the world? Because it's not even close right now. It's also very doubtful America will stay in its position forever, world leaders change all the time.
That all depends on the people. It's their choice to decide how they should live.
If they want a manical tyrant they will give themselves one, it's all on the fickleness of the mob.
Other people tie themsleves up in beaurocracy.
A zillion laws.
Prisons. Taxes. Lisences. Men with guns who enforce them.
Tyranny is not the only route to political repression.
Any political system is perfectly able to repress it's citizenry. They all have before.
Ideally it's the peoples choice on how they live, but in reality that is pretty far from the truth; many of those major decisions have already been made for them. New ones are being made every day.
