m0lly also sees and agrees the Ops point of view and all i say todays mmos market games needed to release everywhere sametime if not its be " worn out" pretty soon, there is loads of new mmos coming and its your own fault if you get lost in translation when you didnt kinda realize that hey, maybe its needed ;-)
also agreed with Haiken, stop defending the game like you own it , its still a game and if some other game
is better that this i wont say No to it. i take it with open arms and what comes with fast laucnha and bugs like
we have seen couple of releases lately, well dont start to merchandise your game too early, make it ready first ;-)
I do understand OPs point of view, it sucks that they get to try it before us by 1 year and I kinda lost the interest in this game by that reason, however thats how they decided to launch the game, although in my opnion is very unfair to us western players because they should've launch the game worldwide like many Big MMO's, but thats how they decided to launch the game. I also think in a way is better for us because usually when they launch an MMO's is full of bugs and is very rough, so probably we will be able to play a very polish version of the game. And it also sucks because Worldwide the first person to hit cap lvl probably Eastern player, the first person to kill X boss worldwide probably Eastern player and that sucks. :P
BTW stop defending the game like you own it is just a fucking game chill...
Many big MMO's as you call it DO NOT launch world wide at the same time. Why is this concept so dam hard to understand. Show me any MMO over the last 20 years that launched world wide on the same day......You can't because there has not been one. Your rants sounds like alot of QQing over nothing. If you are so hell bent on being the first to touch any new mmo my advice to you is to stick to western mmo's only, Except of corse if you move to some eastern country then your out of luck inregards to western games.
BTW: this is not about sticking up for a game, This is about all games in general.
I have seen some very silly post here at mmorpg but this one is a head scratcher.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

I wonder how many other people who never played Lineage will be coming to Aion with this opinion. To answer another question, yes expect Korea to get expansions before us, also expect them to get many other things before us. If thats an issue, you should look into playing another game.
I didnt know there was some secret competition with us and the east as far as who hit what content first..

how difference between 'Defending' and "other point of view" you are?
they makes for light player
who don't have any experience MUD and TRPG (likes D&D , GURPS....)
but weston player are maybe not (i'm not sure --)
do you wanna play having
full of bugs , lack of playable content
1-have very simple system Aion
2-have perfectly play system DAoC
so. Aion and other many east mmo need much time to more update for weston RPG play level
play MMO 32hours in week my favorite game is z9star,Tenvi,Alka(1000vs1000 pvp lol),mabinogi(play almost 6year)
i'm freshman major in chemical engneering in university
I think that you are just disappointed that you didn't get it first, correct? I can agree that I'm a little hurt that they didn't decide to give us first dibs, but I'll live.
So now that the game has launched and is aging well in the east , we westerns get sloppy seconds by next year ??? Sure, let let them get the first expansion done for them too, then we get beta i guess.. think by the time we see it, this game will be pretty worn .. they should of launched everywhere and let all have first take on it.. but hey i am sure there are a few that like those sloppy well worn games...
Sorry but this make's no sense,as does a few other posts saying they are hurt as they didnt get to play the game 1st.
Many if not all game's have scattered release's,hell even WoW released in NA 3 months before it released in the EU,so what life goes on.
Then the part about "the game will be pretty worn" how's that?you havent played it and niether has about 98% of the server you will be on,the only thing you should see is a smoother release.
The other poster complaining that some guilds in the East will have already killed X boss before he gets to play.....big deal,I really dont see what this complaint is about and has no bearing on how you enjoy the game when it does get released and you can play.
Sorry but some of the post's seem to be comming of that because you live in the USA you have some sort of right to play the game before anyone else, maybe a reality check is in order.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"
Bear in mind that porting the game to English is a hell of a job. Copywriters have to translate everything, from questline texts to item names, which has to be checked multiple times, (they might even want to pour a more 'western' sauce over some concepts or quests), voice actors have to be selected, contracted and recorded (up to the slightest grunt of a trash mob), publishers and server hosts need to be contracted ... and all the while the main Korean team is working on ironing out bugs and addressing issues on the Korean game. Stuff like that takes quite some time. Also, they will want to get some numbers and figures in how much the Korean edition is becoming a success in order to see how they will go about localizing the game to other regions.
It wasn't as if WOW launched worldwide from day one, now was it?
(p.s. I am not sure how far they are at porting. Haven't read up on that).
Anyway, Aion's looks are so smashing that it will still be next gen in a year from now
I think everyone would have preferred a simultaneous global release, but it's not very realistic to expect one.
You'd think that they at least could have hired an English translator or two during development to translate content as it was put into the game, since they obviously had pretty much invested in this game and anticipated it to be a hit. Realizing after the game is already released that, "hey, maybe we should start to translate the game now!" is pretty fail.
I realize that they supposedly are doing a very thorough job translating this title and I appreciate that, and I won't judge them fully on their slowness until I've seen the end result. But being a whole year behind is however way too much. Some of it probably has to do with the forming of NCwest and problems associated with stuff like that, but it still shows poor planning from NCsoft.
The game will still be new to us, even if it has been released for a year in Korea. We play on separate servers and them being ahead won't really affect us. I don't really understand that "I want everything first, before anyone else, or I'm not gonna play!! wah wah!!" mentality. It's still the same game no matter where it's developed and who tests it. It's not really all bad to get the release later either, more polished game for us. It just sucks to wait.
I'm just hoping that they can catch up after our release and maybe have our updates only a couple of months delayed. They can't slack with updates and expansions as they have slacked with the release.
They can take as long as they want as far as I'm concerned. The more polished the game the better it will do when it is released to the english community. There is always space on my hdd for NCSoft games.
Same here. Let them take all the time they want on localization and whatever other magic they do.Works fine for me in L2 and will work fine for me in AION.

DAoC-EU was a half year behind of DAoC-US. But the hibernian dragon was killed in EU first, because everybody said it was buggy, until someone tried hard enough.

seconds- we will allways be months behind them, then it's up to what they want to send us.

The thing that smacks me in the face in this thread, as always:
This isn't a F2P second class game. Anyone that's even come close to alluding that Aion was developped this way is not worth responding to.
Get over it already.
