As much as we find it silly. Honestly I believe Massive multiplayer is the next big thing in all games. No more 32v32 or 64v64 on the consoles. Ok, perhaps MMO dancing seems silly. But hey, I just saw 'Hells Kitchen: The Video game" ..so perhaps its par for course
Doing things irl is better than doing them in a game, I don't think there should be games based on real stuff (that is easily doable) at all, use some imagination! (or get out more)
Although... MMOs are just way cheaper and more convienient than pretty much all other forms of paid entertainment, so it's the easy way out.
To play devils advocate tho. I wouldnt say that the draw to MMOs are simply because its cheaper, etc. fact is, many people want to play against people in Thailand, Fight with players in Russia ...Kill the French.
