Looking to possibly return, have a few Q's

Okay well I played in Open Beta and stopped right after the KoTBS/BG patch.   I loved the game originally and for the first 2 months or so.  But once I got into T3 I began to dislike the game.  To me it felt like a grind and the T3 SC's got extremely boring and not much open RvR was going on.

I might be returning though because of new classes and becuase of friends.

I have a few questions though.

1. Is there anyway I can play for a few days for free to try out the new classes?  I know there is the free trial but is there anything where i can use my original account

2. Is the game still real tedious and grindy from 20-30?

3. When questing do the quests still get above your level and you must switch zones to continue? (Like I remember around 15 or so all quests were too high for me to complete)

4. How are the population numbers (I don't care too much but if they are too low i don't want to get max level and the game dies)

5. Can someone give a brief description of how the slayer is and how they do compared to other DPS classes?

 I can only aswer your first question as i am coming back to the game as well for the trial.

 

Yes you can use your original account, just go to webpage and go under your account and go to subscribe and re-sub and enter your CC or whatever info, it won't charge you, and they give you the 10 free trial.  You can cancel before they bill you if you don't like it after the 10 days.  I don't have any money in the bank at the moment and they took my card so they don't even check it til they have to charge it.  Hope that helps but as i said i am just coming back too so can't help you on the rest.

Lvling curve does slow down towards low 30's but ( to me at least ) it's not grindy until mid 30's.

3. When questing do the quests still get above your level and you must switch zones to continue? (Like I remember around 15 or so all quests were too high for me to complete)

That question does not make sense to me to be honest.  If you end-up with a quest you can't do then you wait until you can, if you can but it takes yo to another area then you go to another area, this is no different then almost every game out there.

4. How are the population numbers (I don't care too much but if they are too low i don't want to get max level and the game dies)

After they consolidated a bunch of servers when the people who only played the free month left it got ALOT better.  I can;t speak for everyone but MAGNUS server is awesome now.

5. Can someone give a brief description of how the slayer is and how they do compared to other DPS classes?

I changed to Slayer for my main.  Love'em.  It's sort of a witch elf with no stealth and higher dps.  They are VERY squishy but dish out some really good damage.

 

 

If you are coming backmake sure that you get into a good guild, it helps tons ( as in any mmorpg ).

I played an empire guy through the whole first tier (empire vs. chaos) and got to 11.  Then as I moved into Troll Country (I believe that was the name) when I got to 15 I had run out of quests that I could complete and had to switch to the dwarf/elf zones, which was quite annoying because I didn't no where to go that would give me quests around my level and took a lot of time to find the right quest hub.

 

And I found the call to arms promo and I am really mad.   Your account has to have been closed for 30 days or more and im 2000% mine was closed about 60 days ago.  No where on my account does it show when my account closed.  I emailed customer support so i have my fingers crossed it was just an error

Well i don't know but for my self i am making sure that my renown rank fallow my level and this way it seems that i have always enough quests...

The map has been updated and now has a tooltip pop up when you hover over a Chapter Hub - so, for example, if you saw Empire Chapter 6, in Troll Country (Felde Castle), and you hovered over its icon on the map, you'd see it was for levels 13-15 (I think, somewhere around there). It does this for every Chapter Hub in any pairing so you can have an idea of where to go next and when to go there.

As for your account, if you're sure, try it. Did you and they said it wasn't closed for 30 days?
