Pending transactions doesn't mean they charged you twice. Wait until its on your statement to freak out.
Mine was accepted not pending, then I log in today and it says account frozen and failed acceptance of payment.
Wasn't responding to you. The OP showed how he has 2 pending transactions on his bank statement. Almost 100% of the time one of those charges disappear before it hits the completed stage. Although, I really don't think if you paid on Sunday that transaction is already completed. Its probably still under the pending category which doesn't mean pending. Most transactions take 2-3 days minimum.
I've dealth with many irrate customers who order something then immediately look at the online statement to see two charges. Why this happens to only on a few transactions I have no clue. I've seen it on my own statement, but I know pending means just that pending.
WIth Funcom there truly is no telling, though. Best to wait until the transaction is completed(pending is not completed) before you blow as gasket, though.
Funcom could be having issues with their CC system, and it could be that your charges aren't accepted on Funcom's side causing the error.
My adivce is to always stay away from Funcom, and companies that are known to have horrible CS.

Maybe you should learn to listen? It is enough of ignorant fanboys around these forums already. And this is nothing new. Similar things have happen in the past. Just shows how Funcom can fix their problems..
Don't play this horrible game. Just trying to save someone from having a heart attack over pending transactions, which may disappear.
I've had my own problems with billing. I cancelled my account, they charged my account once, then, twice. Being I wasn't ready, I had no money in there and the overdrew it with two charges, costing me over 70USD altogether. I only got one month of play as well

edit: now I have resubmitted and its back at pending again. There is not a double charge on mine so we will see what happens.
Yea, I saw. I wish they would have done that to me when I subscribed a few months ago. I would have have counted it as a blessing. I just didn't like the game much. Barely even played it.

Oh I have a feeling that I will only play it for a month again unless it grabs me more this time. I honestly just figured i would resub for a month and check out the dx10 test and give the game another shot.
Glad I saw this. I just finally re-subbed on saturday. I played for about 4 hours before logging out. Same as the others I found on sunday my account was frozen , yet I checked my CC and they had not even attempted to charge it for I have no pending charges or denied charges. I called my CC company to see if maybe they denied it and it didn't show online, but they show no record.
Emailed Funcom. Anyone else got any help from funcom or their accounts un-frozen? Just had to post my experience to show that there was obviously a little glitch this weekend in billing. Prob solved by today I'm hoping.

Yes and pending means it hasn't been processed. Every item in the screenshot is pending thus why it says:
pending withdrawals: $253.39
It will quite often happen that you will see two items for the same thing pending. Altho that most usually happens if you are using a debit card (and almost never with a credit card).
some banks are also processing anything from overseas a bit oddly lately. So if the globalcollect billing is coming from where Funcom is actually located (as opposed to the office they opened in North Carolina (I think that's where it was)) the bank may block it or put a hold on it.
I buy a lot of art related software from germany as an example and quite often have had to call my bank to get the process to clear or get automated "fraud prevention" phone calls.
I'm not going to say this is your issue but it is... something happening more often lately.
However, when you put "they billed me twice" in the title.. it would be nice to at least wait for those payments to clear (aka not be pending) to make that claim...
and if you are curious as to why this happens if you use a debit card.
They basicly put a hold for the amount due to make sure it is there when they process. Credit cards are setup so that this "held" amount is just removed from your available balance.
When you do that with a debit card it will show two pending charges... one will clear and the second will vanish normally within 3 days. (the second amount will only ever show as pending until it *poof* vanishes).

Well, apparently, funcom billing department does not work on the weekends. I reactivated yesterday. Played for a few hours and now the account is frozen because my credit card transaction is "pending" Ive never had an MMO where if you resubbed on the weekend they'll freeze the account until it goes through on Monday. That's something Aventurine would do. You figured Funcom would be somewhat more advanced in their billing department.
That and the charging twice thing is turning me around. I was such an eletist thinking Americans had the best business people in the world, how wrong I was.
I'm going to make a reccomendation that our company do this on weekends and see how long we can keep our doors open.

I think you might have me confused with the OP of this thread
Looks like I spoke to soon on my billing hitch working out. Funcom charged me 14.99 twice once ont the 29th and once on the 30th. I sent an email to them, lets see how long it takes them to fix this. Hopefully they do.
I've been double billed by WoW/EQ1/AC1 and Tabula Rasa, I got my money back in every single instance without any hassle, I suggest you do either a chargeback if it's a credit card which is what I did or speak to your bank and Funcom if it was via other means. You have the proof it was double billed, so they can't argue about it.
Other than that it's not something thats unusual to see billing problems, I reguarly have to ring up my utilities company and get them to sort my bills out for electric and gas, they always over-charge and they do it nearly every bloody month.
We really need a forum set aside for billing issues, they are so damn common they deserve thier own forum.

Never had a problem with AoC and billing, they always send an e-mail to say my account has been frozen.
If they are charging you twice or even more couldnt you just get the cash back from your card?not to difficult a simple phone call and you are done.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"
They really have to fix this ASAP if it is so that this has happened to others as well, hope it turns out ok for OP and the others who had problems with this. Looks like this is happening in several games, DO give the game another chance anyway, its worth it now

So you automatically dismiss the idea that this is some kind of cunning marketing? What if they knew they would be making more money doing this, why wouldnt they? There is always someone who do not report back or know about the credit card fraud.
Do not buy into the corruption.
And I have never heard of or had any problem the last 10 years with other games billing system. It just happened to Age of Conan, what is the chance? Seriously, I can not be that damn unlucky to experience all the dirt in one and the same game at the same time..
