You can hope that whatever Blizzard or 38 Studios are working on will be a worthwhile fantasy MMO.  Other than that, I see little light at the end of the tunnel (unless that light is an oncoming train.)

This site is dedicated to MMO's.  Try looking around it?

If you ever played the KotOR games for Xbox, then you should love Star Wars: The Old Republic. It's going to be a lot like the KotOR games and will have a karma-type system that will control what abilities you have, where your quests take you... Check out the teaser videos on their website www.swtor.com

    reply to pencilrick:

yeah i heard rumors of bizzard making a new game but that only spikes my curiosity not my excitement

    reply to spaceweed:

heh, very cute. of course i looked around, geeze. please treat me like a adult, i'm not 3 you know. but like i said looking at all the up coming games all i feel is curiosity, the last time i got excited about a game it was darkfall. now by what i read and see, it looks like they could of done somethings better and needs time to improve certain things so i'm not excited about it any more. i just want to feel excited again.

    reply to rawrXP:

yup, played a few of their previous games, but from what i read so far... curiosity more than excitement. i really look forward to see how it works though.

What type of MMOs do you like?  I've gotten bored of a lot of the MMOs that our there now and have really gone back to most doing my favorite shooter games. Hopefully Global Agenda will be the MMOFPS I've been looking for  -- and it won't fail like many of the other previous MMOFPS's.

Global Agenda is supposed to be go into Beta before end of June and release this year.

This http://forums.thelandsbeyond.eu/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3 ...is what you should look forward to.

I personally don't see anything else out there yet worth it... I see a very very faint light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope it doesn't go away.

What game should you be looking for?

Well I would say the two most promising games coming out are Hero's Journey and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Both of these games use a new 3d engine that allows quest chains that actualy IMPACT your character.  Think of Fable or KOTOR series games.  When decisions actualy matter I am sure it will impact players.

Also these games, built on the HERO engine, are able to generate content, and tie it together several times faster then traditional MMO games. Thus a game is able to quickly generate highquality content.

The HERO engine is by far the most advanced engine to be release in years. I expect since two of the biggest budget MMO games are using it for development right now, we can expect something special in a year or two.
