Which race is the most mature
Hiya guys. I managed to get lucky earlier today and got a copy. I started playing as a Alfar, and not to be rude or anything, but it seems like alot of rude people. Tons of bashing each other, no respect for anyone, that sort of thing.
Now if this is just the state of the game, that is one thing and I'll learn to live with it, but I figured I would at least if there are any other races that seem to be more mature.
I'm also looking for a race that also works together more then Alfar. The race is funny as it is really FFA, cause they don't care that you are the same race, if they want to kill you, they do. I find it amusing they would kill a noob with no loot on him, but who am I to judge.

Many players who chose to play Alfar also consider themselves to be "mad PKers"...
Orcs are fairly cool. I don't happen to play one, but those I have met seem to be a better class of people, on average.

The Mahirim (wolfmen) seems to have the best community. Humans have the worst, every other race come and kill them all the time and hothing happens among the humans.
Interesting. I may have to restart and try them out. I figured humans were probably riddled with bad folks, and as I had wanted to start with magery, I figured dark elves be the best place to start. Guess I was wrong in that thinking.
If I had to say worst it'd be easy, Alfar, followed by humans. The best is tricky, the elves are pretty good, you only rarely see red. The dwarves are good too, because they have the whole crafter thing going and crafters are a little less aggressive in my opinion. My Alfar opinion comes only from beta.

Worst to best: alfar, humans, mahirim, orcs, dwarves,elves.
The last 3 are quite decent, with the elves probably the best (meaning more mature people, less griefers, less dickheads).
And ignore the darkfall haters, game is actually good, but you will need a clan otherwise is overwhelming to say the least.
You guys are admitting to a horrible community.
And the irony is they insult wows community XD thats just golden.

I'm very aware that people would be like this, but I also figured there was probably a group or 2 that weren't such assholes like the Alfar are.
I have looked at both forums, here and there, and quite honestly, the hatred and venom people carry about this "game" is just amazing. After all is said and done, it is just a game, for better or worse. Just because it is a FFA PVP game, doesn't mean people have to be idiots.

Maturity will come when you move from these areas to other places. It's not a matter of race.
Most starting areas are full of players who think that they will get rich and cap the skills by spending all their time there, stealing loot, killing greys for fun, harassing other players, beeing solo gods or something like that. They are remnants of the older mmorpgs and they will vanish since darkfall is not a solo mmo.
Get yourself out of there when you get some skills and find a good clan.

1) darkfall community is like WOW, a bunch of semi-retarded kids and people with small genitalia that need to feel more 'man'. The difference is the FFA PVP, that makes it more obnoxious because in WOW you can simply ignore people
2) if you don't play DF why do you feel the urge to discred it and to post replies in a darkfall dedicated forum? why the hate?

I'm trying to figure out what an imaginary race choice has to do with.....well, anything.
It's safe to say, this is the kind of people this game attracts, this is the people they wanted, and who they pitched to.

I will explain what is the connection between maturity and race selection in most games:
kids will always tend to play humans, it's the case in most MMORPGS (WOW too), so humans in DF are one of the most obnoxious and immature bunch;
alfar attract the 'ultimate PKers'. or whatever
mahirim 'look cool' so that's another easy target for kids;
orcs and dwarves don't look cool, and 'ugly' races usually attract more mature people (probably for the opposite reason cutey races attract kids)
i don't know why elves too attract mature people (mostly). Maybe a RP thing?

Unless your a die hard core df fan you really shouldnt get into the game right now, at least wait till us and another eu server are made. Right now we have all the laggy us peeps, the hardcore df fans, and they people that are already insanely rich thanks to macroing.
Waiting till new servers are made and the game is a bit more patched is the only way to go with df atm.

Agreed. I'd wait a month or so, unless you already know you are going to be part of a big established clan.
This game is definetely un-solo-friendly for many reasons.
And it's still quite 'beta'
OP: IMO, the difference between the level of maturity from least to greatest is so negligable, as to make it a non-factor.
I love it when statements comparing WoW (or any other game for that matter) are made in regards to maturity level.
I would venture a guess that Darkfall's "boneheads vs. non-boneheads" would take top awards with room to spare.
