Btw, I'd be more than willing to buy and pay for one extra account ( if I decide to play this game anyway) just to save the players the future whining/moaning bitching this guy will do after release, this will cover his claim that Blizz will only get a paid account off him if they do what he wants.
First off I see a few who needed to whine in this thread as well. People will be welt... people. Yes there are some real bad apples in beta and there are also many good people as well. If anyone hasn't figured out that blizz forums in general have sucked for years I don't know what to tell you. Everyone thinks a game should be designed to THEIR satisfaction so people will complain and grumble day and night.
allot of people have never seen a MMO before this beta either and they complain allot too. I been playing MMO's and beta testing for way too many years and I have to say my first bit of WOW left me less than happy. I have even made comments how the game just isn't for me. Well I can honestly the more time I spend playing it, the more damn addictive it becomes. I am in all honesty hooked and I never thought I would be the one to say that. Long time MMO players like myself we get stuck in our ways and change is sometimes difficult I guess. There are a few things I would like to see changed that are very annoying and pain in the backside but this is with every single game out there. Somebody, somewhere, including myself, will find a way to complain about something they do not like.
All in all I am very happy I have stayed with the beta and continued to play the game because the more depth and immersion I get the better it get's. Like all MMO's out there people will run out of content, stop finding things to do, etc..etc.etc... Nothing is different in that aspect just a new game to play. I hope that Blizzard listen's to the positive feedback and makes changes but even as a beta tester I tend to stay clear of those boards as well. Just not worth the headaches and aggravation.
This is one hardcore set in his way's MMORPG player and long time gamer who continues to change his view on WOW daily. It has sucked me in and I just cannot get enough. Will it last beyond 6 months? a year? Only time will tell but I tend to burn out games fast anyhow just my nature and the way I play. I have taken pretty casually on WOW though to check all the new stuff out and quest's etc. I even made a comment about how most quest's are task oriented and yes still being the case there are plenty other's that are allot of fun as well. Fighting mob's in WOW is allot different than what the seasoned player is used to and really have to graps at a new mind set for the game. I hated the graphics in the beginning as well but they grow on me more and more all the time. It is really turning out to be a great game and this is one guy who isn't afraid to admit I jumped the gun and didn't give the game enough thorough time sink before I formed many opinions. I am glad though I stuck it out.
Peace

So great this game, i love it ,i had EQ2 beta 2 but for me that one sucks, WoW is the game to play!!!! After week remove EQ2. But wow still on my hdd hehe its a big virus, now im addicted to it damn:P
Yes I understand and know very well not all testers are 14 years old, however my biggest complaint to Blizzard over the past 4 years with Bnet is their lack of control of what goes on in their communities, and some of that has already shown through in beta, thus the sole point of this thread I started here and in other forums as well. I also realize a large market focus for Blizzard games are the teenage genre, the problem lies in alot of the original fans have went through that point in their life and have "grown" up so to speak. It becomes a fine line and a hard tight rope to walk for a company to cater to differnent variants such as this, to me this is game breaking and is a major deciding factor if I buy the game and play or not, to others, they might just shrug it off and say oh well, the company needs to address both kind of players and find that middle ground.
To the last two posters, I think you might of took my thread personal as you both seem to be current beta testers as myself, dont take it that way ( Unless of course I linked a thread started by you, than I stand by what I said ). There are heaps of wonderful testers that do a great job in the WoW beta, there are others who are there solely for a free ride and to get what they want only, these are the kind of testers I am talking about in this thread obviously. Someone might take it as a "whine" on my part in their opinion, IMO it is to make a point to companies to change their ways of beta testing to optimize betas to get better results ending in a better product for the general public at release. How do they do this exactly, I have my own ideas as how I would do it personally which others might view as harsh, such as diabling accounts for various things and replacing them with new testers until you get a tester base that is there to try and "break" the game and not "play" the game.
Being a tester of WOW beta i might just have too agree but also while im playing the game and find out what they are talking about most of it can be true and yes it can be annoying . Most of the time right after a annoying incident they go post right away making their post with more bitching/anger then explanation . Yes this game is great and some things are annoying even if you tell yourself "well its still beta" we know it but it can get annoying still .. we are only human . And also the Europe forums IMO are alot calmer and cool around here . I havent had NO problems in EU beta yet ppl are friendly and cool . And yea i havent said something like no D00D i r teh LEETZ0R0Z0Z0C00Z0. And hell im from the US.
I am a tester and I must say that there are many annoying people but you can't let them get to you. Ironically enough if you look in other then the general page of the forums (mainly on the classes forum) you find intelegent conversation about balancing without too much idiocy. So don't let those posters ideas get to you. However i agree that you cannot even sample the game i do not suggest completly not buying it for that reason its very nice with few tweaks still needed to make it better. But then again its still beta
But i test wow like it should be report bugs and tell as many that wow is great game and that they should buy it and play!
Had great day today met some nice peeps did great quest in instance dungeon and we all 5 finish after about 3 hours!
Ive played AC2,FFXI,lineage2 and everquest2 beta but WoW beats them all AC2 come close to WoW btw but that my experience i play now on pvp server in wow.
The way I see it, they should regulate the closed beta testers so that, after a certain amount of time, their account will expire, and a new wave of people can get a chance to play the closed beta (not meaning open beta). Not only that, but you have some supposed beta testers (not all beta testers) who are in the beta to just 'play' or Ebay the account, and who could give a rat's a@# about bugs, exploits, and other issues about the stability of the game.
I know you cannot totally get rid of these problems, but at least doing something about it would help.
People like this piss me the F off, I wanna curb this guy or do to him what Kimbo Slice did to that Byrd dude.
