The scenery and terrain shadows are very impressive. The character models, animations and spell effects are poor. NOone should choose Darkfall if Graphics are high on their priority list

Somehow every DF video is tons of red and yellow colours. Or totally black.

Doesnt look bad, but the FFA -PVP and free player loot is just a big no-no for me, no matter how good the game otherwise would be.

Luckily, animations and shoddy models can be fixed. They've got the groundwork for a great game here if they make the right moves - and fast.

No actually they don't, they have the groundwork for an unfixable mess... no matter what else they change there is too much on the client side to prevent hacks, even if they had the will to do so which they apperently do not.

Looks to me like it shows how 3rd-party "Auto Loot" software works as well.  When I loot someone I have to physically click on the object in the loot window and drag it into my backpack.  As seen at 6:28 in the first video.

I don't know what the heck is going on at 7:40 and 8:48 of the first video as well.  He/She merely clicks on the loot and it instantly appears in their backpack.

Most would think big deal, right?  In this game there is a lot of competition for loot.  Anyone can loot a corpse and usually when someone dies there is a rush to loot them.  You can only get the loot as fast as you can drag and drop it into your bag.  It takes a second and if your not fast you will miss out.  You can't compete with the auto-loot ...... you are assured to miss out unless you run it as well.

Sorry, but this 3rd party software crap slays me.  I don't run it, I don't hack, I don't exploit .......heck I don't even macro, attended or not.  As a result I am far behind a whole lot of people on the server.  I know, QQ care bear ........ it's just a tad disheartening.

There is an easy to find 'program' that does auto-loot for you.  It was one of the first 'programs' my new guild recommended for me.

Yes, I know it's an easy to find program. To be honest I hope the lot of you get banned for using it.

We have been permanently banning all accounts that we detect are using 3d party software exploits. Still, there are a few people who don’t understand this and continue installing and using these exploits. You will definitely be banned if you do this. No appeals and no excuses are accepted.

Seems pretty clear to me. Whether or not Aventurine will follow through on their statements is another thing.

agree. the videos have been post-processed with +saturation, the venetian effect in places and possibly also +smoothing (though could just be anti-aliasing enabled in driver config).

shame those videos are only from 3-4 different regions of the world instead of a nice mix.

it's just a macro. like the "chop wood" macro or the "spam MM at a wall" macro.

I was initially impressed with the game world but you can have nice graphics all you want but if the game is a festering piece of crap it doesn't really matter.

Perhaps then the same could be said of all 3rd party software that currently exist and abuse the game engine, including speedhacks, radar hacks and teleport hacks among others

those are not macros. DF macros are not illegal as long as you are at the computer. you fail.

They are not ??? Really??? Well not from my point view.....

I use radar hack, eeeerr macro i meant , that gives me a slight advantage over the opposing player but not much bigger than the "auto-loot macro" does hence i macro

I use "teleport to chest/rare mob/dungeon/whatever macro" that just gives me the chance to harvest more resources more quickly just like a "chop wood" macro does with the only difference being that one of those is attended while the other one is not

I use a speed macro in order to farm alliance points faster allowing me more time enjoying the game the way it meant to be played

See what i did there ?

Don't forget there are no Hackers/Cheaters in the Game and no one had ever seen anyone using software to cheat. Once upon a time there was a cheater in Darkfall but GM-THE PUNISHER busted him and no ever attempted to cheat again. ;)

Really I don't believe a f****g word comes from Aventurine or Tasos, more than one time it was proven that their statements do not match to whats happening in reality--> see the official page of darkfall, section game features for more information.

post processed to an extreme; this is not representative of actual in-game graphics. AA is not applicable, not even forced through drivers, and the movies had obvious saturation enhancement and possibly many other modifications as well.

not rly, with some common sense applied they could fix nearly all their problems. And anyway they built their graphics engine so I'm pretty sure its upgradeable...

too bad AV has no common sense whatsoever.

though im no tech savvy wizard, i did play the beta and the environments did look nice, I actually thought some of the shots in the videos didn't do it justice. Of course a novice coder straight out of high school could make better animations and particle effects, and the models are plain at best.
