NOt sure where the outrage over price is based. Last several mainstream MMOs were all ~ $50. Unless there is a substantial difference between $49.99 and $50.00 that I am unaware of. Darkfall may not be of the quality of other recent mainstream releases (WAR/AoC) but noone should be surprised at the price. Seems pretty standard
I agree. As far as paying the same thing for an Indy product, I don't see how that is different from any other industry. You pay the same price to watch an indy movie, or purchase music from indy labels. I don't see how anyone who has been playing MMOs for any length of time thinks 50 bucks is outrageous. If the price point is beyond what you think it's worth, just don't buy it.

The difference is Indy movie, is complete, Indy music is complete when you buy it.
But Darkfall is a game so lets compare it to another game. Lets go buy a box of Legos. If you buy a box of Legos that is suppose to have 100 pieces in it. and you spend $50.00 on it, you get home and it has only 25 pieces you would bring it back for a refund or an exchange correct?
Well Darkfall was stated by Tasos as being content complete. Well we all know that is not the case, So we should not be paying full price for it. They have 25% of the content in, the price should reflect that.
Just out of curiosity, since I have never before heard of a game who... well is NOT sold, can anyone tell me why? I mean, I know quite some people who wanted to buy and try it, but it is just not for sale. And that is one of the oddest things I have seen in the MMO history. Surely the ~ 8 years development would create some debts they have to pay now. So whats the deal? If the server is full, I dont think opening another would be so difficult, let alone how many bored and disgruntled could be lured to at least give it a try when they make an alternative ruleset server, or whatever.
