I still don't use artifacts at all, and I STILL am one of the hardest to kill/hardest hitting warriors on Mordred.

Ya, plus the Dragon equip/champ gear is better IMO. Some artifacts are real nice though.

I would only play DAoC again if they fix a couple of things ( if any or all of these issues are already fixed, lemme know :p )  :

    - Put in timers in against realm hopping, 1 week timer sounds good.

    - Fix buffbots.

    - Merge all servers into 1 server, including the european servers, pve servers, pvp servers and classic servers. Standard ruleset should be used.

    - Serious merging, not clustering. All homelands and pve areas must be merged as well.

Ya, one thing that I think would help alot is to just merge servers, not cluster them. It's really pointless having that many servers. I think they should make the cluster into like 2 or 3 servers at the most, and just transfer everyone over. We'll see what we can do ;)

We're starting to discuss some issues on the forums. Feel free to head over and check it out.

It was a good game until the Trials of Atlantis expansion then it died a quick death because clueless devs could not see how overpowered it made dedicated players.

I went back when they made classic servers, but by then it was showing it's age.  Class imbalances were still rampant so it made no sense to continue playing.

Hopefully we can do something about it....

The thing about TOA was that Mythic blatantly lied to it's subscriber base saying that TOA would have little to no impact on RVR activity or balance.  Remember that PVP/RVR was the games stand out selling point.  Yeah back in the early days we had to GRIND to 50 but once we got our epic armor we were good to go. From that point the game was about players not gear.

Right now i'm tooling around on both classic and TOA. One port to Atlantis and i'm done with that server. I hate PVE generally and since i have to invest wasteful time for PVP artifacts and such i will just stick with classic. You realize why Mythic hasn't/won't create an Origins server don't you?  All the other servers would die a quick death and the only cluster or servers people would be on would be Origins servers.

Another sad issue is buffbots on regular servers. I think they make up about half of the player base to be honest on Devon cluster. So it cost's you 30 bucks a month to play there and be on level ground once you get geared to oblivion. Mythic never touched buffbots to begin with because it was a revenue issue. It still is. At least they created classic later on to pull back some people and at some point classic populations destroyed normal server numbers until they mega clustered.

I still thing DAOC is one of the best games still. Decision wise i was never impressed by Mark Jacobs and Mythic.  They always did things to the extremes. Bad moves.

How goes the crusade for the resurrection of DAoC.

    Any updates on the progress.

I been meaning to sign up for the boards, but I can't register for it here at work, and I forgot to this weekend.

I will try and remember tonight.

Doin alright. I was hopin to have a bit more interest at this point than I do, but I can be patient. We have 24 members on the forums now and that's decent. Just still have a long long way to go. Hopefully we'll see you on there soon!

Have you made any post on the WAR and DAoC Sections of this site?

Also we might try and appeal to some of the disgruntal WAR players at this point, there are tons of them.

Well I doubt you will be able to "steal" away any current WAR subscribers, as WAR is pretty good now, and better then DAoC, imho.

WAR is not yet as fun and epic as DAoC was during it's glory days ( post SI era ), but it is getting there. RvR is fun and active, there is nice PvE to be had and nice new content is underway ( RvR dungeon ala Darkness Falls, etc )

So currently, WAR is the best RvR game for me, no buff bots, no realm hopping, being able to level and get items thru RvR, active servers, etc.

I will agree with you, WAR is a decent game, but I know there's a lot of ppl who were disappointed by it. I, for one, like it much better than WoW or anything else, save DAoC. But anyways...just workin my options I guess.

Well I just got pulled back into WAR last week. I stopped playing and had no intentions of returning, however my buddies told me things had improved so I gave in to try it.

I will say it is 3 times as good now as it was when I quit.

It still has a long way to go, but the improvements are plentiful and vast. Balance is still a minor issue, but it always will be so I can't really complain there.

They seemed to have optimized the client more, as I used to have some crash/stability issues, now I have none. (this was a 1 of my main reasons for quitting)

The players that are left seem to now be working more as a unit as opposed to 100 wow arena wannabes. They think of the greater good of the war effort as opposed to how many personal kills they are getting. (this was prolly my main reason for quitting)

All in all most of the reasons I personally stopped playing WAR to begin with, seemed to have been addressed, or resolved.

So, just saying WAR is coming up to quickly shape into a DAoC worthy successor. It isn't there yet. DAoC to me is still the better game in terms of RvR, but WAR is getting there. Albeit slowly.
