Question, to Chinese Testers
My friend who I was playing with mentioned she thinks after you get the "You have been playing for # hours, please take a rest" you stop finding quest items and exp is lower. I've noticed with the two quest i'm on I haven't found the items yet, but they could just be rare.
Could somebody please confirm this?

Thats justa thing ncsoft does, that messege is just a sugguestion. Shows every 2 hours, I went from level 1 to 13 , got the you have been playing for 8 hours before i shut it off.

After like 4 and 1/2 hours I get a message about EXP/Item rate being cut to 50%. After the 5 hour mark it gets cut down to 0%. Meaning no money, no exp, no quest drops. You have to log off and stay logged off for about 5 hours. At least that's what Aionsource.com is saying on their forums, and it seems to be true, at least from my experience. The only way around it is to verify your account to get it flagged as an adult. Considering the OB is supposed to end on the 16th. I don't think it's worth the hassle.

The message about your play time and taking a rest is a normal NCsoft thing. No worries there. The no XP and loot thing is a chinese thing. Unless you're registered as an "Adult Account", meaning having someone 18+ with a CSSN input their info in your account, then after 5 hours of playing every 24 hours you stop gaining XP. This is ONLY a Chinese thing. Don't expect that for the NA release.
FYI: Beta is amazing. Slightly annoying with the lag connecting to China, but the game is great. Everyone is in for quite the treat when it comes to NA/EU.

Not just China but Korea as well. It's due to people literally wasting away while playing mmo's. There have been a few reports off kids dying from malnutrion due to being idiots...er, um yea...I meant "Due to prolonged game-play and not eating". Mostly the not eating part. Even more than not eating though it was really caused by idiocy.
This is because your friend didn't use an adult ID to create his account, there's no penalty for staying longer if you use an adult ID on the chinese OB.
So to OP, yes it is confirmed. And yes, xp loss after ~3hrs.

I got a couple characters to level 10. I'm not playing any more because of the lag, but I'm looking forward to NA release. There's nothing special about this game, it really is just an especially well polished theme park MMO.
This, in my opinion, is the first MMO with potential to take away some player base from WoW.

Yeah, so far from my experience in the COB, Aion doesn't offer anything really new, just packages it all up and delivers it in a really polished fashion. I'm having a blast so far, and I just subscribed to Spellborn searching for that game with the "different" gameplay, but I'll gladly buy and subscribe to Aion once it comes out in the NA -- great game so far.
