EQ2 Servers

in Everquest II
Will EQ2 name the server that same as in EQ? Would make it easyer to find old friends.

    They havn't released this information yet and said that it would not be released until the game is really close to release.

    They released server info fairly eary with SWG, didn't they? Just before the time that "open" beta started I think.

    Yes, open beta will more than likely bring the release of server names (if there is one). Still though, it's at the last possible moment. =P

    they havent released it yet, but someone told me the servers arent named in beta either. they are like beta server 1, beta server 2, etc. it would be cool if they were the same though.

    I realize this info has not been released, but is there and industry standard on this type of issue?  Best guess, for those of you in the industry, do you think it is likely SOE will keep the same server names as EQ1 or invent new ones?

    My SWAG is they will have entirely new names for production servers. If they keep a link to EQ names it will be a post-apocalyptic "modern day" name. image

    I would think they would be the same...from what I've seen the servers were named after 'gods' and such and that info shouldn't change from the two games.

     

    Also, I know they kept the same names for the servers in asheron's call 2 from asheron's call...not that I would encourage any company to follow turbine's lead.

    I think it would be cool if they came up with a bunch of new names for servers image

    Reply for the mod on EQ2 Forums said the names will be diffrent so support will not get confused with EQL servers.  image
