I personally couldn't care less if EQ2 has PvP...it's not ment to....if you want PvP you might want to take a look at Guild Wars which from what I've seen is heavily dependant on it. WoW of coarse has lots of PvP but it's not dependant upon it. Just do some research here on all the different games...there's a ton out there. And if you'd like to get rid of your EQ2 beta account I know myself and a ton of other people here wouldn't mind taking it off your hands
Well the problem with Guild Wars is that it will not support massive players playing in a gameworld, it will be more like how NWN, Diablo II, Warcraft III are set up, free to play online but the servers will most likely be moderated by kids who like to do mischeavoous things to people. Not saying Guild Wars is going to be a bad game, I know it won't be, just saying it isn't nor shouldn't be listed in this genre (the mmog genre).

It's a MMORPG. I can remember seeing a few 100 people in one place. It has all the right material a MMORPG has, but it's more "twitched" base.
"Dark and Light" or Mourning will the the next immersive PvP games coming out. Guild Wars is more of a war game (achieve objectives, x, y and z, etc. with the resouces you have).
WoW seems to have a fair PvP system... i've read all about it, but havnt had a chance to test it out... from what i've read though its pretty cool... try WoW OB (probably sometime mid oct.) and see what you think...
i wonder how CoV's PvP will be though... seems really cool ^^ Super heroes and Super villains, dueling it out ^^ good stuff
-------------------------------- Games Played - Too many to list~ Games Currently Playing - Lineage 2, RF Online. Favorite Game So Far - Lineage 1 ^^ Waiting For - WoW (OB is gonna be hell T_T l337 d3wdz everywhere =_=)
If you really want to focus on PvP, Dark and Light will be your best bet.
If you want PvP that is completely open though, with NO safe zones(not even cities), then I'd suggest Darkfall.
But both of these games won't out out for quite some time, so if you want PvP I'd try WoW, just because of the lack of a good PvP game at the moment. By the time DnL and DF come out, it's likely you'll be sick of WoW.

WoW stresstest PvP was pointless, worthless, and completely zerglike (You lost nothing, and gained absolutely nothing)
Now if it drastically changes, it may be good.
But for a good safe bet, you got games like Mourning, D&L, Darkfall, Guildwars.

10y ago i played UO and i loved that game, since them i left MMORPG and changed genre to RTS/FPS games.
I'm not searching a PvP only game, but rather a PvE Game with PvP possibilities on the same server. EQ2 is a group-based PvE game and nothing else. When you don't have the time to play 4h/day it's absolutley not the game for you. You can't do soloing and you can't do PvP.
Vanguard and Wish are looking good, but i did not read all the FAQ.

Actually Dark and Light is still the game for you since it gives the players more flexability to affect the game than any other. Player nobles will settle, rule, and guide the development of their own territory. They will create events and quests to bring players in to populate their lands. Of course DnL will have GM events designed by the Dungeons and Dragons creator Gary Gygax as well.
The PvP is only between two alignments meaning large areas will exist for PvE without fear of getting ganked from behind (although the player nobles can place bounties on anyone within their territory who becomes a pest).
Explain how WOW has purposful PVP when the only point to it is to A) be true to Warcraft with the horde vs alliance (which makes no sense anyway since all the races allied at the end of WC3 to destroy the demons). The only way PVP would make sense in WoW is if it was everyone vs undead, but since that wont happen... you cant take over territory or cities.
And excellent PVE? wtf, its exactly the same as every other boring EQ clone. Hit attack button... sit... wait... use a spell... wee.
Go for DAoC, Lineage II, or Shadowbane. Those three games were specifically made with PvP in mind and hence, the most balanced and geared towards that. The rest, like WoW, are PvE with PvP as an extra. Those style RPG's never seem to balance very well.

I was sure you had to be atleast 18 to apply to EQ2 beta. I must have been misinformed .

I can tell you've obviously never played WoW due to your massive misimformation. Please go educate yourself more about WoW before making ignorant posts like that.

If you're going to rebut his argument, do not result to the overly used and simplistic "You don't got the right information, shutup."
But rather prove him wrong, because until you do, you look more misinformed then him.

I don't support the combination of PVP and Radical Girl Pictures.
Or did you mean RPG?
Are you joking? Since when has EQ ever been known to produce a PVP that works the way it should?
If you want to PVP, go try out DAOC, Lineage 2, Neocron 2, Planetside, Shadowbane, WWII Online, Ultima Online, and soon to be released WOW..

Darkfall will be the beacon for pvp players to come running and nestle themselves in a warm blanket of ownage....should it ever be released...
Other than that my hopes are that either WoW will do something right on the PvP server or Dark and Light.
If you are into sci-fi Vendetta might do it right, its supposed to be more of a skill based, 'twitch' game.
Hehe I am suprised you didnt get for that comment. God forbid anyone suggests EQ2 is boring
But I have to concur with you i personally have never played EQ before and am finding it rather erm lack luster..

WoW sounds like it's the best choice of a game for you (solo friendly, Awesome PvP with a purpose, Excellent PvE).

In any case just for clarification, here's the WoW's PvP site:
