    Have you seen Fallen Earth?  That is a 1st and 3rd person FPS-MMO with vehicles/horses...  that game is going to kill Earthrise...

    Yes I have seen Fallen Earth and I have to say it is not all that great... There is no open pvp. It is not as hardcore as Earthrise will be.

     

    There is also loot restrictions from what I have read... It is not a horrible game tho... Both Earthrise and Fallen Earth have their pros and cons.

    Or you have a massive world with stupid artificial limitators like long cooldowns for actions and even movements

     

    Or you have a twitch based gameplay, but instanced, with low ammount of players.

    Earthrise has never been about FPS twitch gameplay. It has always been an RPG. If you don't like that, then don't play it. But some of us want an RPG, it's just a preference. No need to cry about it.

    Nope only certain zones are open pvp the whole world is not... You should look up on it before you talk about a game.

    Only a retard thinks that they both can't be combined. Just because a game is an RPG doesn't mean it has to be super slow and boring. TBH they said that a new player would be able to beat a older one if he was more skillful as a player, I hardly see thats gonna happen...

    Even though Tabula Rasa failed, it had the best combat system in any Sci-Fi MMO I've played. EarthRise could've made their combat like TR and people would like it. The way combat is demonstrated in ER trailer... it looks like wow with lasers.

     

    TR failed because the devs couldn't offer an endgame to players and it had consensual pvp. If it had a better pvp system/base capture system and better endgame then it would've still been around imo.

    Dude, the argument wasn't about whether or not they can be combined in general, Jokers argument was that it just isn't that way in ER. So don't be calling him a retard just because you're getting confused what the argument here is about.

    There's way too many ppl that have the wrong idea about the game, some have been complaining that they heard or thought they heard ER was a FPSmmo for which it's not and never has been.

    Would an Fps/Tps MMO be an awesome idea, hell yeah, as long as the Devs know what the hell they're doing..>>

    So just because a skill or weapon has a cooldown, it's a WoW clone? 

    Fallen Earth has plenty skills with cooldowns. All weapons have a cooldown of sort. A crossbow dont shoot as fast as a assault rifle. It's on a timer. Everything has a rate of fire of some sort.

    Earthrise a WoW clone? lol I suppose EVE is a WoW clone because the weapons have cooldowns there also.

    Go back to WoW and stay there please :)

    Hmm, you know in a FPS just about every weapon works off an ammunition clip, once you're out of bullets you have to reload which is a lot like a cooldown.

    From the argument the other guy made I guess games like Halo, Counterstrike, and Quake are all a bunch of WoW clones too..0o

    Heh, I'm gonna remember that next time I play some Gears 2

    They added a Global Cooldown for the roadie run that doesn't start til it ends, they nerfed the shotgun so the two-piece ability has a better chance of failing.  Active reloading is just choosing when you want the cooldown to start.

     

    and best off... Everquest now has ripped off Quake!  Which means WoW is just a quake-clone for newbs :o

    It worked out just fine in AO. This is an MMO not an FPS you want fps go play xbox live with all the potty mouth kiddies.

    That is easy. A sword takes endurance and accuracy to use properly. Hence you need some time between the swings to recouperate. If you seen simulated real sword fighting you will see that there is usually pause between a swing or series of swings.

    However assault rifles and such does not have that restriction because they are automatic and require you to only aim and pull the trigger, the weapon will do the mechanic motion for the bullets to fly out the barrel.

    Sword swins dont have cooldowns... abilities do...



     

    you're kidding right?

    auto attack swings automatically for you which it does have a cool down. abilities are to sub in for more damage during that cool down, unless of course youre spamming abilities non stop.

    Coming from Fallen Earth with NO cooldowns (shoots like a normal fps) I can't believe a company would make a WoW-clone with guns... wtf?

    I'm going to only respond to this attempt at a thread by you once, so pay attention.

     

    Anarchy Online came out in 2001, 3+ years before WoW.

    Anarchy Online had the same "cooldowns" on pistols, rifles, machineguns, assault rifles, shotguns, energy weapons, and every other type of firearm.

    Anarchy Online is now 8 years old.

    Earthrise will survive just fine.

    Actually in Earthrise, everyone does in fact have shields. This site isn't devoted to ER, but this section is. At least know something about the game you're commenting on.
