in Everquest II

I am just coming back to EQ2 and I have a new laptop.  I'm not entirely sure of it's specs, but I know it has a good processor, 4 gigs, and a 256 MB graphics card.  But what is strange is the game seems to be looking worse than it did on my old computer.  What settings should I use for the best performance/ look? 

 

Also, what are some good add-ons? I hate this new mini-map and the quest log is a little annoying too

    The thread right above this (a sticky) covers graphics settings, and you can find a thread concerning addons on page 2 of this section.

     thanks...I tried to look through but didnt even notice the sticky...kind of you to assist in combating my stupidity = )
