lf very fun solo oriented pvp game - should i give guild wars a chance?

so finally i decided to quit WoW for good reason is being i couldn't find a good arena partner to do 2s with and missed out on s5 gladiator. I decided to switch over the guild wars mainly to enjoy solo pvp and best of all, getting stuff solo without depending on people.

what  i love about wow is there is different type of melee class - i love playing melee instead of the boring warrior with typical warrior type skills like feral druids, ret pallies and the best of all, my favorite class the death knight. To sum it short, i prefer playing an all rounded pvp class that primary focus on melee but have some spells in the arsenal. The class imbalance is obvious with pallies and dks, but still arena pvping in wow was fun, especially since its not all about strategy and a well-timed switch plus instinct + luck could win you an arena match or so.

i started with a trial account on guild wars but i was a bit disappointed when i created it. I was only allowed to create a char in gw prophecies and it looks to me like warrior is the only fun melee class, the rest seems to be ranged, and i check wiki assassin is the only other melee class or something. I wanted a class more on the dark side so i chose necromancer even tho some guides said it was weak for pvp. The graphics and music looks good, but the class play style seems boring. I never like playing ranged to begin with, and as a necromancer i dont seem to have any special ability to get away from monsters except from running during the trial.  I want a class that is somewhat like a death knight in wow and most importantly, intense deathmatch battles arena style solo pvp without depending on people.

is there world pvp in guildwars?  are there lots of snare tactics for ranged to get away from melee, and melee to get to ranged using so said methods?

 

 can a veteran in guild wars please help me with this question whether guild wars will provide me that kind of fun? the 10 hr trial that provides me with access to prophecy seems a bit disappointing but i dont want to give up cos it might gets fun if i purchase the game as the graphic and music seems quite decent, but i dont want to end up feeling disappointed after spending my money and felt it was a waste.

 

or is there another pvp game that is more fun?

     There are three melee classes in Guild Wars.  You're aware of the warrior class, which is in all campaigns.  The assassin class can only be created in the Factions campaign, and the dervish class can only be created in the Nightfall campaign.

    Everything in Guild Wars except pre-searing and a few odd solo missions elsewhere assumes a group of at least four.  That group can include both players and henchmen and heroes, which are AI party members.  Someone who wishes to play solo can have a group consisting of himself, three heroes, and however many henchmen it takes to fill out the group, and do nearly all of the PvE content in the game that way.

    AI characters generally aren't as smart as players for PvP combat, though.  They do have great reflexes for interrupting, but aren't that smart in choosing what to interrupt.  As such, you'll probably want players rather than heroes for most PvP, and heroes aren't allowed at all in some types of PvP.

    The exception is hero battles, which is one player and three of his heroes against another player and three of the other player's heroes.  Hero battles are capped at one human on each side, even if the battle itself is a 4 on 4.  That may or may not be the sort of thing you're looking for.  Getting heroes requires either Nightfall or Eye of the North, so it sounds like you won't have access to try hero battles if all you get is Prophecies.

    Guild Wars has a PvE side and a PvP side, and they're kept pretty disjoint.  Many players will do one and not the other.  If you want to think of Guild Wars as a PvP game, you can, but if you try to tell other people that it's mainly a PvP game, they'll properly tell you that you're wrong.  The PvE is really good, too.

    Guild Wars does not have open world PvP.  All PvP is in arenas with a fixed number of players on each side to make it balanced rather than the pathetic ganking that passes for PvP in a lot of other games.

    If what you mean by a solo oriented PvP game is that you don't have to organize a group yourself, there are some other PvP options, too.  Random arenas are 4 on 4, but players don't choose their teams.  It picks groups of four players at random from among those looking to participate.  If a team wins five matches in a row, they get promoted to team arenas to face groups of 4 that did choose their team.  Fort Aspenwood and the Jade Quarry are PvP missions with fixed objectives for the two sides to fight over.
