You guys know any good rock I can listen to?

Rikimaru_XRikimaru_X Member UncommonPosts: 11,718

Somthing like:

Thursday

Velvet Revolver - Fall to Peices

Somthing like the two bands above. I don't know what's good rock or not so I need a little help.

    this is easy ^^

1st thing you gotta get is a POOP load of Incubus... Incubus = best rock band ever (well... from late 90's to now anyways)... kings of "riff rock"... pretty much one of the only rock bands i listen to now (i mostly listen to rap/techno)... if you dont mind a semi-funk rock style and love shfancy riffs then they're the way to go

    songs i advise getting are...

    -New Skin (my personal fave)

    -Vitamin

    -Pistola

-Megalomaniac (probably seen this one on TV and heard on radio)

-Sick Sad Little World (long but good)

-Certain Shade of Green (wierd lyrics, but still uber)

    -Beware! Criminal

    -Pardon Me

    -Warning

    -Glass

    -Circles

    -Idiot Box

    -Calgone (kind of odd)

    -Blood on the Ground

    -Leech

    -Nowhere Fast

then of course there's always the uber commercial songs like "Talk Shows on Mute", "Drive" (SOOO overplayed), "Wish You Were Here", "Stellar" and so on...

anyways aside from Incubus, Static-X are pretty good... so are Sevendust...

grab those Incubus tracks for sure... that should last you awhile...

Yay lets quit one of the greatest bands of the 80s and 90s and join Scott Weiland yaaay. Velvet Revolver blows but it is indeed original...wait no...it sounds exactly like a G&R and STp offbrand! AHHH.

Anyways, I hope you know that Falls to Pieces only has about 8 different lyrics. With that said, I don't know of any bands like VR. Thursday has a few goodies. Like I tell everyone, listen to Clutch and you will fall in love with them.

Synthesized to shit and making it sound too cool bass [clutch] > Slash's new icky STP sound [VR]

Weiland's pathetic 10 year drug addiction < Clutch's underground status

Try Megadeth too. "Risk" is my favorate album by Megadeth. It rightfully so-considering the band's roots-sounds like Metallica [which I try to dispise. Money whores] but with an alternative and melodic twist.

By the way, If I see another Incubus song listed for "OMG L3333TIST SONGZ!!!" I am going to puke. Not a flame, just an informant. Tons of better music out there for Incubus' genre. Sunny Day Real Estate, The Fire Theft, Sonic Youth....hell even Moby... LMAO

Lars Frederickson and the Bastards - Viking.

While it has a definite punk sound to it, it's some of the best sweaty, balls out rock and roll I've heard since Motorhead.

right now my favorite song is so far away by staind (yes I know it's old)

but uhm..if you're looking for good ones along the lines of new, there are a couple

    -Somebody told me (the killers)

    -Like a stone (audioslave)

  • KiamdeKiamde Member CommonPosts: 5,820

Hehe Murt that Audioslave song is 2 years old. Get with the times. I just got Wilco's new album last night at around 6 in the morning. It is pretty good by my standards-which are pretty high. Wilco is country without the corny accents, bolstering great guitar work and metaphorical lyrics. If you like Ryan Adams, You will love Wilco.

You guys know any good rock I can listen to?

Not sure about rock, but you can listen to a conche shell and hear the ocean. I doubt there are many kinds of rocks that you can listen to. Limestone, quartz, granite, etc, none of them make noise that I know of.

    KANSAS!!!

You really should check out there music. Although they are more of a early 90's rock and they are'nt hard rock by any means, but a really good listen.

Take my advice....you will need it.

    Ouch!!.......lol!

Lighten up pill head....who lit the fuse on your tampon this morning!?!?!?

Or am I just interpreting you response wrong by thinking it is harsh. By any means I say, "woops, my bad sorry to get that mixed up". Although it IS more of a explanation of type rather than specific's, if you get my drift.
