Question:Why three monks stands there with a empty barrel.
Answer:they are waiting for jay and silent bob.
What For? Please check out next Jay and Silent Bob movie.
So...
Based only on those pictures alone... Dungeons and Dragons Online is obviously the best, but when you start looking at other pictures from those games that is not the case
I don't think any of those pictures give the game graphics any appeal. at allAll them look crappy so the only one i've seriously looked at is WoW and EQ2. But D&D online looks good to
D&D online....but also on this subject i dont think any of these games are that much of an improvement over current games (CoH for one)
also the DnL pic is a poor repesentation of the game as theres no character models and most of the buildings are quite far away, the only good shot we have there is the grass, but thats all green
Well, based on just these shots I'm going to have my vote to GW. WoW is a step down from L2, EQ2 looks like claymation, DDO looks a little off... body seems a bit misshapened to me, Wish looks like EQ1, and GW just seems to have the perfect blend of animation/realism look to me. DnL gets no say cuz I couldn't see it and there wasn't any sliders
I also can't wait then they ALL are released. I plan on owning them all (I'll get bored of the even best game, I have GADD: Gaming A.D.D.)

The only screenshot that shows a high level of creativity is the one for World of Warcraft.
The rest look like they're lifted from MMORPG Graphic Design for Dummies, except the ones for Wish and EQ2 which just look plain bad.
I think if you are going to have a poll on which game looks best by pictures you post you should pick some with a little more detail in them. I mean look at the EQ2 one...it's a picture of a rock.
It's a comparison of the characters. If all you can see is a rock, scroll right.

Best in terms of what? Good looking? Optimization? Textures?
WoW : Low Polygon count, great textures UV coordinates and great digital painting, absence of bump map.
EQ2 : High Polygon count, poor texture UVs (look at the stretching between the legs, that is really noobish from game company), bump map, not so good digital painting (lack of details hairs/face and armor), bad lightning.
D&D : High Polygon count, greats UVs, good digital painting, great lightning on textures, no bump mapping, amazing modelling skills.
Guildwars : Very Low polygon count, amazing lightning, good digital painting (lack a bit of details), great UVs coordinate, no bump mapping, great piece of art considering the amazing low polygon count.
Dark and Light : Very High Polygon count, good UVs, weak lightning, good details of textures, no bump map.
Wish : No comment... we're in 2004... not 2001.
Here's how I'd rank each games considering their graphics :
1- D&D (Good from A to Z)
2- GuildWars (Optimization at its max, amazing skills)
3- WoW (Very solid work, Blizzard knows their stuff)
4- Dark and Light (Poor optimization but still good)
5- EQ2 (Very overrated, the poor UVs shock me, poor optimization again)
6- Wish
For those who wonder what optimization is, it is the poly count to result ratio. EQ2 and Dark and Light could have use way less polygons to achieve these results. This will simply waste framerate. It only tells us that the modeller wasn't as skilled as most in the industry.

EverQuest II will rock.
I second that.

Yeah but your opinion can't be objective... because you obviously know nothing about cgi.

Graphics don´t make a game. If I´m looking fir a game with good graphics, I wouldn´t play MMORPGs.
I think DnD looks very good, but for gameplay, DnL.
(Of course, the better point in DnL graphics is the terrain engine, if you take a ss without terrain, it´s not objetive. Also character models are nos finished)
Rule #1. Never use screenshots given from the game website. They do all they can to make it look awesome. Wouldn't even put it past them to photoshop it, similarly what they do to models to get rid of any apparant flaw.
So where do you get reliable screenshots? Well you don't untiil there is a beta.
So D&DO is definitely out of the picture for reliability.
Personally though, i'd have my hat go off to WoW. Not because its the best graphics. But because it has good graphics, that half-assed computers can run.
I have an 1100 Pentium 3 athlon with 512 meg, 32 meg videocard. Played the closed beta, and even though I think the game lacked anything to set it apart from the pack, the graphics weren't horrendous, and they ran very smoothely on my computer. So Kudos to them.

Really can't judge by just first glance, as each game may have more to it then just judging by how a charater looks.

I think that the WoW character is the most.. characteristic, but that the GW graphics are still better

Would of been better if you took the SAME type of charater from each game. Like a warrior/knight, since different classes have a different all around look and feel.
But my answer is deffently EQ2. The amout of polygons and detail that they have put into the armor is awsome. Not to mention the gavings on shields and swords. Its just flat out the best graphics ANY mmorpg has to offer at this time.
My 2 cents.
Well some of those pictures were not of chars in game. One was just advertising artwork and another was of a mob in game.
I dont think anyone argues wow has the worst graphics, or that eq2 will require the newest card. But honestly i think there are flaws in them all
