First real boats seen in action

The Mercs released this video showing an actual boat sieging (and destroying) an entire coastal city.

The whole boat PvP and things like that are one of the main reasons why I want this game so badly... But getting a copy is still impossible for me because its never possible

Hm..I wouldn't know. I can not even buy the damn game and if I could..its insanely overpriced...I just bought Age of Conan and Lord of the Rings Online for a combined total of $24.....lol.  Sorry Darkfall, you lose. Maybe someday the client will be available and the client will not cost more than any other game out currenlty and then I will buy it.

It is overpriced, but AOC and LOTRO both cost 60$ when they were first released.

And btw Kasmos, they didn't destroy the entire town.  They took down the gate, the keep (twice) and a few walls, supposedly.

Nah i bought a copy just last week. Just look for store opening announcements.

 

@OP, holy shit that is cool. I think this slams the door shut on any argument that Darkfall is not the premier PVP MMO on the market right now.

No comment for the video.  Other then this.  TM picks the absolutely worse songs to use in their video's.  (IMHO of course)  I have to mute the volume just to get through any of their video's.  Just make the damn movie stop putting crappy music on it.

Its from the cannons firing. You can see when the "camera guy" grabs one and begin to shoot himself.

I expect that if adventurine continues to focus and upgrade the ship and city sieges, darkfall will be a solid game for hard core PvPers for quite some time

The raft thing at the beginning threw me off... I was like "Ha ha... some boat!!" ... then it got to the real boat and was like "oh, ok".

Darkfalll still isn't my thing, but that was kinda cool to watch them seige the city from the boat.

This is some city vs warship action, after that they destroy the walls or keeps I believe and penetrate the city, killing the npcs and players there

And darkfall has some brightly lit areas, but this video was shot during dusk hours I guess, and Darkfall is naturally well, dark.

cool video but utterly unrealistic rate of fire, not to mention the range. yes i know it's a game but they could try to be even slightly realistic. at best with a full 12 man gun crew, ships could get 1 shot about every 50 seconds or so. mercs always choose unlistenable music ugh!

from an aesthetics point of view. there should be cannonballs and powder bags stacked on the deck. would complete the look of the cannons.

 

still a cool video though.

I think WWII online and Planetside plant themselves pretty well into the world of "Real PVP". Cept they dont have the "Phat lewt". But I guess in terms of a actually fantasy type MMO with looting/seige features, than yea, DF is the only one like that with that kind of depth.
