Yes there are sieges but maybe not the kind you are looking for. Keep in mind that sieges were supposed to be the ultimate endgame content but the number one reason for quiting the game has been lack of endgame (see other thread with poll). Also you need a top-of-the-line hardware to get acceptable frame rate in siege.

Sieges are all instanced with a player cap, you'll need to be a member of a guild with a T3 city to participate. Then you'll need to be able to get inside the instance so you'll need to be a high level, then ofcourse there are exploits and bugs still present (so I've heard).
I found it a chore to even get into a siege let alone fight one, I'd say you should try out the free trial. Because if you want AoC for sieges you'll quit before you reach lvl 80, in fact most of my mates quit before lvl 80. I was just too stubborn, and quit after lvl 80!

Yes, it's a full-time job to even get to those sieges and when you finally get there and see how they suck.. it's going to a miracle if you don't quit. It's like doing all that work to see that prize only to realize it's not there.
