I recently subscribed on the EU PVE server, when I started out it appeared that there were quite a few people about and the community was good fun. Now I have reached level 8 and moved from Hawksmouth into Aldenvault the people have dried up, I really feel like I have an entire zone to myself and I don't like it much. I figure it's because there aren't many subscribers yet?
Anyhow, I really enjoy the game but an MMO is no fun on your own. I was thinking about downloading the US client because I have heard rumours that your population levels are really high and even though the time zone is different I might actually get some people to play with.
Are there any people here playing in the US that can tell me what population levels are like?
Comments
yes the population is pretty high on pvp and pve servers from what i have seen
I noticed the same on the EU servers. But Acclaim did great work advertising for Spellborn. Now the servers are getting pretty full in the newb zone and on the subscribers locations it is getting to a normal population. So i would advise you to play on the Acclaim servers.
I played on the US servers as the europe one seemed totally dead, which is a real shame.
Thanks for the feedback, installing the US client now.
Just a heads up, while the pvp US server has a lot of players, it may seem dead to someone in europe who plays off peak hours. That being said i work and mostly play on the weekends, where i would say the game seems to be nicely populated, i cannot vouch on the US populations during off work hours in european timezones.
I do recall that the pve server use to have significantly less items in the auction compared to the pvp server, not sure if that has changed recently, but would suggest that the pvp server is much more populated.
So just be aware that if your from europe and trying to proxy over to the american servers that you may be playing while a majority of us are sleeping/working..
Today during work hours was pretty darn busy in the newbie area. I had work in the evening so I wouldn't know what it looked like during peak hours though.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
I rolled on the US PVE server last night and for sure, the starter area was much busier than the EU equivalent. However, I get 1/2sec lag on everything that I do, I presume because of the distance from the UK.
I'm not sure I can play like that so I think I'll have to persist with EU and hope we get more subscribers. C'mon Spellborn NV, whip things up a bit in europe!
I like TCOS very very much and would really like to start it, but the total lack of population is just not worth paying 13Eur.
So far i visited the starting areas of EU PvP/PVE and german PVP/PVE: While the EU servers had a few players around there, the german servers where just absolutely dead. Doing some research on the forums, i found out that this does not only relate to the starter areas, but to those servers in general.
Common opinion on the forums is that the EU needs to merge both french and german servertypes with their respective internationals. The community manager dropped some hints between the lines and one can expect this to happen rather soon.
I know that for many reasons Spellborn doesn't hit the taste of the average rpg-r0xx0r kid and this is a blessing on the other hand. But seeing this great game going down hill because of zero population would be sad.
Interesting comment, if things don't change then servers merges may be the only way forward. To be honest it wouldn't bother me if people didn't speak English, it would just be nice to see some more players around!
i'm italian but i play on american server, yeah is laggy but European Server are empty, this is a good game, i hope in a merge of Eu server.
If all the players that play the Acclaim servers because they think the European server are empty would play the European servers the problem might be solved too. But marketing in any form might work too, because this game has had no advertising in Europe at all, except perhaps some in Germany by Frogster.

Alot of UK people still play on acclaim cause if the old ip-ban, if they all would come the EU servers would get more crowded yh.
When people talk about the EU servers is it the server that says International?
All i get is a list of servers that says Germany, France and International.....and that server is always dead when i play it
Since i have University in the day and a part-time job in the night my play time is mostly during 10pm to 1am and there are hardly ANY one there in the starting newbie zone. I saw 3 people and 2 of them were AFK for the whole time i was playing and there was one other player that would just go rogue and start killing everything i tapped
Would also be nice if they could improve the server so i don't get a 1-2secound delay every time i do something >.< i don't think it's a latency or internet speed problem, i think it's something with their server.
But apart from that this game is great, love the interface and the combat system, hope it's here to stay!
Yes, the EU has 2 sets of 3 servers. 1 for German speakers, 1 for French speakers and 1 for everyone else, mostly English speaking. 1 set PVE, 1 set PVP.
Dont' count on there being loads of people though, the EU servers are pretty quiet, even in the evening.
So it's better to signup for US version? Is anyone playing in EU?
I am, and although the population was low at first, its been steadily growing ever since patch 1.0.3 (on the international servers that is, Int PvP and PvE) I havent been on the US servers so I cant really speak abou which is more populated but it seems that Acclaim did do some more advertising than the other publishers
I would sign up for the EU, although it is quiet it is getting more popular slowly but surely. I also find the lag from the UK to the US Acclaim servers intolerable, but then I'm fussy about lag as any good MMO player should be!
