Even though this game seems to be coming along nicely, I still plan on waiting until some FAN reviews come out. I could care less about what gaming sites say because most of them gave WARHAMMER a great review and I didn't think that game was all that they made it out to be. So I plan on waiting until players from the official site and this one have their say before I make up my mind.

I'm going to wait until there's a free trial.  I've learned enough about MMO's to know not to pay for anything based upon the opinions of other gamers.  MMO's are too diverse... and there has been far too many garbage mmo's released.

That being said, I think this one could be great, and I am really looking forward to being able to try it out.

Before I heard about the game also being a console port I was all onboard.  Now I'll wait for a few months and see what the general consensus is.

If you cant walk inside the ship, the game isn't worth playing. Will be another messup like swg

I'm a huge star trek fan.. NO, I don't dress up and go to conventions.. Normally, I would let the game play itself for a few months and read reviews of players before trying it myself.. However, STO I'll probably be one fo the first to play, breaking my normal rules.. I hope I don't regret that decision..   Last game I did this with was SWG.. OMG.. what a HUGE mistake that was, actually SWG was the main reason why I refuse to play games anymore at release.. LOL

However, I would like to see more info on the website..

I have to say, as of now my mind is strongly made up of not playing this game.

I have wasted thousands of pages of info and years of my life starting from SOE's to PE's version of the game and just got burned out on being disappointed all the time.

I'll probably wait and see what others have to say (playing TOR unless they screw up with it to). about it before buying so I don't go off the deep end when I feel like I'm playing COH again.

I think it's a bit early to worry about preordering or whatnot. I'll wait until we're closer to launch to decide what I'll do.

I think I learned my lesson a long time ago about rushing into an MMORPG upon release.  They tend to not be ready and even then so, they spend years cleaning up the mess because of it.  Its like selling a car to someone with no interior then, adding it in a peice at a time over the next year.  lol  Everytime people bum rush a game when it comes out they all go into panic mode when its got bugs in it.  lol, how thick can you be?  I partially blame the developers for releasing a product too soon, but the mass frenzy people go into play a game RIGHT NOW adds to it.

Ordering pre-release. I'm not looking forward to this game for the same reasons I would look forward to a normal mmo. I love the Star Trek universe and being in than universe would be an amazing thing. From what I heard, they seem to be going kind of stupid with this one, I.E. more arcady than simy, but still, a persistent Star Trek world? Sign me right the hell up.

    Starwar>>>StarTrek

Both startrek and stargate are fighting a losing battle already might as well fold it and save themselve some money.

  • Pre-order for me.

    1) The Star Trek IP is the game I've been waiting for.

    2) Cryptic is an experienced dev house and puts out quality titles.

    3) Unless there are obvious bugs or something like that, player reviews mean less than nothing to me. Why should I trust someone I've never met to tell me if "I" would like a game or not? Have you listened to some of the things gamers say on these forums? I'll trust my own instincts first thank you.

    ROFL!!!

The last Star Wars MMO was a complete and utter failure. In fact, most of the Star Wars games have been utter garbage. IMO, only the KOTOR series and Galactic Battlegrounds were any good. A popular IP alone isn't enough to save a game, as SOE and SWG found out. TOR might just turn out to be good, but only time will tell if that game lives up to all the hype it is generating.

Also, the recent success of the new movie only increases the audience potential for this game.

if it shapes up nicely ill preorder a collectors edition if the goodies are nice, that way years down the road if i decide im done with it ill have nice mementos and maybe something worth ebaying (eq1 ce sold for over a grand a few years after the game came out).  not banking on it by any means but if the extras are awesome theres no reason not to get them.
