Last week I was shopping for a new mmo to play ( considering I've played every mmo ever released )  , and I ran accross Eve special edition online. I looked at the game for at least fifteen minutes wondering to myself " is this game gonna feel like Earth and beyond, or Jump gate?" so I took the plunge and bought Eve ( $39.00 ) . I am now completely hooked on this wonderful game, since my Everquest days I have'nt felt like this in ten years, this game feels abit like earth and beyond but ....different, it's hard to explain the game itself, but from after completing the tutorial  and now owning my own destroyer ship , mining ship shuttles ect you get that sense to train in all the latest skills to bring your ship upto par with the latest upgrades and weaponary.

Time sure flies by when you do the missions in this game let alone the mining, cargo hauler ect, this is a game truly defined by it's players and a game with no boundries at all, if you can get past the tutorial you will have alot of fun exploring, learning from the eve online universe, the community is also very kind, as they help out "newbies" like myself.

One piece of advice I can give new players is, read EVERYTHING, and DO the tutorial, Been playing for roughly a week now and I am still learning cool new things in this awesome game.

I would rate this game a 10/10 flawless on every aspect, one of the best MMO experiences I have ever encountered.

Glad you like the game, always good to have new players.

I am sure you will have a bunch of jackasses show up with the same old crap they always spew about the game but who cares. What you are showing here is that you seem to get what most people miss and then start slagging the game. It seems you took the right approach to the game. read and understand everything you can find and do the tutorials. Those tutorials set you up well as a new player with skillbooks and ships.

My feelings exactly.I had this thing on the back of my mind that every MMO had to be like WoW (because it was my 1st ever MMO), and when I played EVE for the 1st time did not give it a chance...I returned about 2 months ago and decided that I would be starting from the begining, choosing an Avatar doing the tutorials, actually paying attention to what was given to me. I read a loooooooooooooooooooot on EVEPedia, EVE Forums and so much more countless websites and have the help chat channel open (even if I didn't ask for any) but a good sorce of info nevertheless... ^_^ I am hooked, it's a bloody hard game to get to grips with, but once you follow the first steps you should be ok.

In my opinion, whoever would like to try the game, do a bit of reading before you start playing the game, that made me more eager to play the game and I didn't have that overwealming feeling when you start it for the 1st time :D

(sorry if my English is not perfect, not my 1st language)
