New to MMORPG and DarkFall

Hi there folks, so the title is a little misleading because I am new to Darkfall, I got a copy last Thursday, but I am not all that new to the forums, I have always been here reading the forums, but I have never posted before, so I went and made an account and here I am!

The reason I am posting, is because I am a Darkfall noob and would love some feedback, advice and some general tips on the game if anyone would be so kind. Now I have been reading a lot about Darkfall, the good and the bad haha, but my personal take so far is that it is indeed rough around the edges, but apart from it's faults I do enjoy the game and have fun playing it, so I guess to me at this current point in time that is all that matters right?!!  

As I said I have been trying to keep up with the forums about news and other tidbits regarding DF and one common theme I keep reading is join a guild, well I would love to, but before I do, does anyone have any info or advice they could pass my way to help me make a decision on what would be a good fit?

Do whatever you want in the beginning, then join a clan : )

You will always be outnumbered if you play alone. Be prepared to be ganked,  and gank others.  You will make mistakes in the beginning, learn from them.

Thats all i can think of right now.

if youre looking for advice as to what guild you should join, post what type of game play youre looking for in the game.

Thanks guys, I forgot to mention that yes as for my gameplay type, well i have generally always been in more hardcore guilds in the other mmo's I have played, guilds that put in lots of hours to get server firsts and what not, however since i have never played a pure FFA PVP MMO not really sure where that puts me haha.

If I had to say my play style is generally more "hard-core" i really hate using that term btw! But yes I do like to put in lots of hours and I would love to pvp/siege regularly as well as do whatever exploring and PVE there is in DF and also last but not least get into the politics aspect of the game, so I hope that isn't too confusing!

 

Oh and the MMO's i have played before are...

FFXI, WoW, LOTR, AOC, TCOS, and now happily playing DF

The biggest thing you can do to enjoy Darkfall is join a clan. Preferably one with a large alliance and already has a city
