I guess it really is vaporware now >_>

"And so the saga finally comes to a close: 3D Realms, developer of infamous vapourware sequel Duke Nukem Forever, has closed its doors"

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

    I am not surprised really.

A shame though for the game.

Damn this sucks. I remember seeing spots on Ebgames.com for this game and hoping it would eventually come out.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Quite the decade long paid job some people there enjoyed.

    Ok think im better now.

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude; greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

Man... everything's going to shit.  First the economy, now Duke Nukem...  Maybe there really is something to this 2012 thing after all...

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

I was thinking the same damn thing. What till my dad hears this. He got me into Duke Nukem and he was wating for this game...for a decade so I mean this is...I'm going to hold my zippo in the air for this game. I never been so bummed out since Level5 cancled that MMO for Xbox. 3D Relams well always be that one great company that we will all remember. I need a hug.

Really I hope no one got surprised at this, getting funding after a decade of production and with an economical crisis is probably pretty hard.

The companies state that development of Duke Nukem Trilogy, a Nintendo DS and PSP platformer compilation of Duke Nukem: Chain Reaction, Duke Nukem: Critical Mass and Duke Nukem: Proving Grounds, is unaffected by today's news. Development of the trilogy is being handled by Frontline Studios.

In addition, Take-Two has released a statement to outlets including Shacknews, as follows: "We can confirm that our relationship with 3D Realms for Duke Nukem Forever was a publishing arrangement, which did not include ongoing funds for development of the title. In addition, Take-Two continues to retain the publishing rights to Duke Nukem Forever."

Quote from the news post on Gamasutra and according to it there's still Duke Nukem games in production but it also seems that Take-Two is not going to finish the project.
