Enemies joining battle....

bpg2221bpg2221 Member Posts: 11

I have been playing AO lately(lvl33)and become frustrated with enemies jumping in in the middle of battle.  I thought this was suppose to only happen in the shadow dungeon or whatever it is called....But I have been in Angkor Wat and it seems to happen almost every battle...Has anybody else seen this or had a problem with it?

It's very common in the game, especially later on. It's definitely a pain.

Certain enemies do it more than others, though.  Once you realize which ones, you have to use some strategy regarding which ones you fight. That is, try to get one not near any other mobs that can join him.

this is game intend for us players to have a party so our community will be active.. if you have the hard time doing your quest ask help to your friends or find people who has the same quest as yours so you can help each other. i remember i do the part when im doing the BT quest. its really hard and i keep on dying, so lucky for me i have friends who are willing to help me through out the quest

There are sort of "rules" to it, though, in regular dungeons. In shadow dungeons, you almost aways get 3 mobs, even if there are none nearby.

But in regular dungeons though, distance seems to matter. So try to fight a mob that is isolated in a hallway or something, away from other mobs, rather than a big open room. (The Valley of the Kings is a good example of this).

And then in some, mobs are kind of linked together. You can see one mob move around with 1-2 mobs sort of chained to it (they'll sort of be pulled along).

And as I mentioned, some mobs are just more prone to do this than others. If it happens, you know you have to be careful.

You can use bewitching scrolls, but they can get expensive, since they only seem to last about 3 or 4 fights. The best thing is to try to group with someone else. Just ask the other people nearby (there usually are) if they want to group. People are actually more willing to group in this game than any other I've played.

Even though the community as a whole is very helpful and nice I'd advice you to get yourself a guild. By fluke I got in a very nice guild with some lvl 100+ and they are extremely helpful.

I agree to Trance, you just get monster that was away from the other mob... or like what i've said  used scroll of bewitching, at your level it was just cheap you can afford to buy it to help you leveling up.

yeah try using scroll if no one can help you with your quest. bewitching before the battle start and during battl why dont you try vortex it can help you out too..

If you don't have any bewitching scroll or anyone in a party, just attack a monster that is isolated in a place. With that, there is a low chance of having another monster getting bumped to you or the one you're attacking.

if you died inside the shadow dungeon youll find yourself outside the door of the shadow dungeon. its better to form a party if you will for a shadow dungeon.
