It looks good, but its not an MMORPG.

I was reading some articles about it and they say it's an online mmo rpg fantasy with pvp, not much after that.  I think if they include some good PVE we might have a good game though, though I'm very skeptical...just thought I'de throw it out there in these dark times.  Also, I posted it because I mod on Cryengine source and I think it would be an amazing engine for mmorpg's...aions release this year is based on the original cryengine I believe.

What the hell? Unless Games Workshop is behind this, somehow, I don't see it being released without some serious infringement.

Thats because you cant trademark orcs.... ive got zero interest in this game, so tired of the fantasy genre.

Wish companies would go scifi, modern day, post apoc, anything besides fantasy, there are so many fantasy MMO.

Ya cute video, looked good.It was sort of set up liek a Unreal Tournament type of game play. The flags looked goofy but make it VERY easy to distinguish a whos who on the battlefield. It looks like a typical Asian game but the sounds were more of the NA type,i can see this type of game going some where.

though it does look very nice, just from such preliminary footage, I too am a bit tired of fantasy games.  Sadly Fallen Earth doesn't look as polished as that clip, but still I'd rather try that out because it will offer that post apoc, gritty sci_fi feel.  Wished they used the cyrtech2 engine for FE though.

I for one am extremely impressed, I mean if this is actual in game graphics this easily rivals Crysis as the best looking game so far. It almost looks like CGI to me o_O

That website looks like shit though, especially the font! Times new roman?

After looking through the website it doesn't seem to be an MMORPG but rather a multiplayer PC game with persistent characters and some kind of lobby and versus matches of up to 32 players. Think battlefield. Still could be cool but it ain't a mmo :(

Its nowhere close to a WoW Clone.

Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs are not trademarks of WoW.  They came from Tolkein who was deeply interested in Celtic/Gaelic lore.

Example.  Elves are the Sidhe (pronounced Shee).  Bean'Sidhe = Ban'shee or Banshee, etc.. etc.. etc..

Anyways, check out some info on the game before calling it a WoW Clone.

Its an arena style game with hack and slash elements, and damn good physics it appears.

I'd be more akin to call it Fury 2.0.  I just hope its good.

This looks very interesting, the Warhammer Fantasy universe looks to have been a huge influence at least from what I have seen, though I think they have taken the Warhammer art style and twisted it a little & even made it more dark & menacing.

Demo wise the graphics look a lot less cartoony than WAR, they appear to be much grittier & are overall very high quality, but the thing that stands out is the sheer quality that oozes from the animation, if they have the kind of animation quality that was shown in the tech demos on the interview over at AREA actually in the game it will be even more impressive.

Reservations are there as to what kind of style of game they are heading for, there is very little detail on play structure & the video only shows an arena match up with 2 small teams, if they go for scenario based team PvP or open world PvP or a massive PvE world is still unknown, but my gut instinct says they are going to try to do what WAR started out as with the scenario/battleground/arena based gameplay, sorta like other FPS but done with a fantasy twist, I cannot see any way in hell a game with such an engine would be able to cope with anything more than 12-20 players being displayed at one time, so I think any kind of large-scale battles with this engine are not possible.

One to keep an eye on though.

I give up on the term MMO as the whole industry has botched it up into EVERYTHING is a MMO now a days.In reality ,when you enter an Instance raid you are no longer in an MMO setting. You can also be in a zone with very few players,so again it would not be a MMO seeting. It seems that the MMO term used by the industry now days is merely any game where by many people play it and online,so it pretty much includes every game.

games like this have been in development for 3-4-5 years.back then players didnt feel that way towards the fantasy theme

the problem has not been the scarce western AAA fantasy themed titles released during this time

the problem has been the unholy overabundance of F2P generic copypasted asian bullcraps that have flooded us during that 4 years, and which made us hate the genre with passion

it will happen the same with sci-fi. western developers will take 4 years to release several AAA titles, and when they hit the store shelves, the market will be flooded by hundreds of asian sci-fi stools that take 4 months to make.

thank the asians for making mass production of CRAP an art.

Well I didn't think about asian games ruining the fantasy aspect.  For me the fact that it's another "western-style" fantasy is bad enough.  What's next will there be a King Arthur MMO vs. Beowulf?

Maybe they should have done a twist at least, throw in some sci fi to make it different.  Imagine Orcs as Aliens landing on Earth in a far future, in fact the premise could be an invasion by these alien races that resemble Orcs, Goblins, Elves, Trolls, etc...  That would suggest that our lore has some basis of past visist by these alien races, and hence human civilization created the fantasy lore based on reality.  Oh wait, nevermind that's Star Trek lol.  It's been done.

I think the problem with originality is that it's all been done before.  How many times do we reinvent the weel in hopes of finding something new?  That is the real challenge indeed.

ehhhh.... the game looks pretty amazing and something that I would really really be into. However, what the hell were they thinking with orcs and pig men on stilts.... seriously why. I just wanna play a serious looking game with humans vs humans... I don't care if its scifi, modern day, whatever but comeon this is such a blatant Warhammer ripoff its pathetic.
