My take on WAR was when it was free I had fun but once the thought of having to pay for it came into play, I just couldnt pull the trigger....Also by the time my free time was up I was in tier 3 and the game just is not as much fun then as it is in 1 and 2......Also many of the vets said 4 was the worst of all of them so I decided not to go on any further......

Just upgraded from the trial last night. I want to see what is beyond level 10.

Same here. I have CE,  game runs terribly - and selling the "exclusive" books in their store was a punch in my face. I'm not going to look back to this game, EVER, seems like Mythic won't learn from their past mistakes...

Im getting some lag in the RVR stuff but havnt messed with my settings as yet.  Lag seems worse since i upgraded or perhaps its the server. I started a toon on Phoenix Throne to play with my buddy going to play on the one i used in trial and see if there is any difference.

I think the reason it runs crap is because they outsources all the gfx stuff to asian countires like Korea.  And then tried to shoe horn it int othe ir code.   This game runs just as bad as those asian f2p mmos if not worse.

    Thanks again. : )

You do know there is a trial available? And that most of all these are all opinions.

Don't take what 4-5 people say as fact until you've experienced it for yourself.

Warhammer ran well on my year-old laptop well, no issues or anything.

Yea, that makes sense. I will get a free trial. It was totally brainless of me to listen to someone else.

Yep, play the trial and see what you think. Ive just upgraded the trial myself and im having a lot of fun with the game. Dont know what it was like at launch but then i rarely buy a game at launch be it an MMO or single player. People can and do pick apart every game on the market, as said, play the trial and decide for yourself.

This is what deters me from WAR, not the community, or the lackluster RvR, the client.

Dunno the game always ran fine for me... Other than the first month I would get stuck on just about anything and everything for no apparant reason.  It was great when you dropped off a hill and were stuck on a flat piece of ground..

I just turned my account back on... played for 2 hours and uninstalled again.  I can't really list anything.. or even complain... I really don't know (it doesn't grab me...)  Nothing bad to say really.

As to why I left after the first month?  None of the reasons you listed.  It was the sheer volume of hack use... with the WAR Buddy etc video's uploaded onto youtube daily.. even got to see myself die in a few of them.  All I would see was "we banned XXX gold farmers today!!!!"

If I hadn't played DAoC and dealt with 4 years of Radar users... before they did anything about it.. I would have stayed longer.

Then again that really still isn't saying anything "bad" about WAR... so much as a certain group of people who play games like WAR that I refuse to deal with.

If Warhammer doesn't make North American players happy, nothing will make us happy. The concept, MMO is probably outdated now.

It is as long as they keep making MMO whack-a-moles. They need to start putting a world into MMO's, something where you can live/socialize/do countless stuff that does *not* involve pressing 1-2-3 to attack a creature/player and kill it and *then* maybe people will care about things enough to fight over it.

I wouldn't agree with this statement.  In fact, I would say that the concept of MMO is gaining momentum.  The market is growing, and the playerbase is growing aswell.

Also, why is Warhammer the end all be all for North Americans?  I found eq2 and wow to be much better then warhammer and im a north american.

Uhm, the guy is greatly over-excagurating. If you like casual PvP then you will have a blast until the end game where it is kinda crappy.

So don't write the game of completely. I hate the end-game yet I am still, after 6 months, enjoying doing scenarios (instanced PvP) and an occasional open RvR (not instanced PvP).

The game got many unique features. Such as

    • Public Quests - Anyone can at any time join a global quest and compete for rewards
    • Scenarios - You can get the majority of your exp through doing instanced 100% PvP scenarios. No more grinding PvE for exp.
    • Interesting classes - You have Bright Wizards that build up something called combustion which gives both bonus damage and self damage. You have Chosen, mighty tanks that can "twist" Auras to both buff your allies and weaken your foes. And so on

So even though the game has some glaring issues (such as end game) you really should give the game a shot. There is even a trial running on the Euro servers so check out www.war-europe.com/
