You should try the Vanguard 14 day trial if you haven 't already. If offers a lot of what darkfall does and in some cases, offers it better. However it does have a few downsides, like leveling, auto target and spell track/follow. I have been pushing for a lot of improvements for Darkfall. I've recently cancelled my subscription but I have not given up on Darkfall. A good patch tomorrow, who knows, I may come back.
Yeah true man. Vanguard was pretty sweet. I tried it around a year and a half ago, but the graphic requirements were rediculous for how it actually looked. It just lagged so much I couldn't stand it, and I run all other games just fine.
Maybe I'll check it out tho - i did get a Macbook Pro which might just be able to handle it a bit better now. Problem is that my friends who I play with aren't going to upgrade their computers for a single game, haha.
14 Free Trial sounds sweet though, thanks man.
Yeah I'm pluggin' away at Darkfall. It's pretty fun, but its damn relentless and hard to get used to. We'll see, I've only played it for 3 days so far. Thanks for the response!
Vanguard is pretty good now actually tried it the other day, the game has depth to me it feels like EQII without the instancing everywhere and there is so much one can, be ready tho to find empty servers that is the only thing that kept me from continue playing, all those cities they need ppl, at least a few hundred ppl roaming around, that would be good enough, but most cities you go to they are just empty, its you and the NPCs, SOE did a good job turning VG around they need some better PR and something to bring back a few hundred more ppl.
Mortal Online looks pretty promising but atm there is no point being overhyped, they are doing a much better job than AV but if experience tell us anything is not to make the same mistakes keep an eye on it but dont put your hopes on it if it comes out as it should be then yes it should be really good, if not well too bad.

Trouble with a lot of good games, is population. DAoC is one.
Well, Aion has gotten me fairly excited, but since I am to the point of loathing wow, since I've played it since just before its one year anniversary, I don't know if it will be good for me in the long run. I discovered MO, and judging by how it has managed to stay out of the spotlight for the most part, I have a feeling it will launch much better than DF has, and will probably have most of its features implemented. Granted that's all wishful thinking on the features part, but I like to be an optimist. I plan on getting mortal online since I do believe it launches before Aion does, and if MO delivers, I may stick with it. The concept of FFA Full Loot PVP is new to me, I couldn't get into UO's graphics and top down camera view. I'm kind of regretting that now, since it doesn't really bother me much anymore, but what's done is done, I missed out I'm sure. But seeing MO has gotten me pretty interested in it all. I would have given DF a try, but from what I've heard you have to do, to do basic functions in the game, the controls sound too annoying for me to want to play it. Champions online has also gotten my attention, since the concept of being a super hero is really neat. The CoX games weren't too appealing to me, for the same reason as DF. I found the controls to be horrible. If Champions' control scheme is better, it'll also be a contender in who I give my subscription to. If CO, MO and Aion are all three great games, then I have no clue WHAT I'll do lol. All three are kind of tied as far as what I'm looking forward to, but if I had to pick one, I'd say MO since I'm really curious about how addictive I could get in looting the players I kill. Sorry for the rant too lol, I just like to talk.:P
Mortal Online is yet another European MMO...So far when looking at other European MMOs released, that doesnt give me much hope that it'd be any better than DF
DF is fun, but for some reason I have found it difficult to log in, as in the desire to log in, oh well, I will def be trying Mortal Online when it comes out, I just hope it is much more polished than DF.

Not really sure about this comment,If you are putting the EU mmo's against the Asian grinding MMo's then yes number's wise they cant compete. To name 3 ...
AoC,
Fair enough AoC had a really bad release but is alot more playable now and has a good and growing player base.
TCoS,
Again the devs shot themselves in the foot at release with the IP blocks, these have since been lifted and they have a loyal fanbase that is also growing.
EvE,
We all know about EvE and has been going strong for years and shows no signs of stopping.
I dont think people should pigeon hole EU mmo games as a failure even before they release just on the fact they are indeed EU based.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"
I agree, I don't think it's fair, nor logical at all, to base a games worthiness on the ethnicity of its domain. There's well developed games, and not so well developed ones all across the board. US, Asia, Europe. All have keepers and trash binders.
So we all have been waiting for Darkfall as if it were going to save us from some mass-mulitplayer recession....... and, according to most of you, it didn't. I just got the game yesterday and am having a great time so far, but my question to you all who absolutely detest the game, is what will you do now? What MMO fulfills your wants? I can't go back to WoW...... haha, as most of us can't. UO is just too far gone to even consider reviving. Games like AO & DaOC nearly require you to have lots of cash in game in order to get off your feet. SWG went down the hole years ago-- i'm sorry, even if it's a cool game now, I'm stuck envisioning a Jedi as something special and the current SWG just doesn't cut it. Is there anything worth considering these days? I mean I personally am going to keep going with Darkfall until I hate it myself, but I'm just curious. For all those who were let down, what are you turning to now?
Ah so you hang onto DF b/c there is nothing else you can think of that can keep you entertained.
Mmmm never said anything about MMO's being the ONLY thing to keep me entertained? You made that up..
Is that a pathetic way of admitting that you did not have a life apart from camping your keyboard. That is sad.
Really? You're just aching to put someone down for no reason at all eh?
There are many ways of killing time, the worst form is to have time kill you by forcing you to do something sub par. We do not like DF, its crap, we move on. Each and everyone of us have his/her own ways to enjoy a little bit of relaxation and leisure.
Life lesson? lol. Fully aware that everyone has his/her own way to enjoy a little bit of relaxation and leisure, but considering we're on MMO forums, you'd think that would be the primary subject no?
You have to bring up WoW, you need WoW in every discussion related to DF? "Most of your you cannot go back to WoW" you said, so what? A handful of you cannot go back to WoW, does the many millions in WoW miss you, do they even notice your existence?
Was just stating I personally couldn't get back into WoW. Honestly....man, you think anyone who plays WoW hope that people miss them when they leave? You made that one up too buddy..
UO DAoC, come on, even after their demise years ago, these 2 still stand miles better than DF is now or ever will. Don't try to compare DF to UO or DAoC, its not in the class.
Ho ho! Sorry commander! I completely forgot I should never compare MMOs that aren't in the same class category!
What are we turning to? We need not turn into anything, we have a life, have things to enjoy, and games are just one of the many options available to us to pick when we want to burn an hour or 2. As for DF, its not a game that generates fun for me, so its off the list for playing.
Once again.... this is a forum based on MMO's, I 'm not asking you what to do with my life when I'm bored...don't flatter yourself.
What is DF for me? Soap opera, and a dev who is as hilarious as my sister's baby when he was younger. When I denied his icecream last year, he behaves like Tasos. Now at 3, he is more mature than Tasos.
Mmm, had a perfect comment for this line but I already received a warning from a moderator for posting it.

It is so hard to understand my mocking?
Ok simply put. There is no need to find an alternate, no need to do anything because, as you put it, we "detest DF". DF was never anything to many of us, its a joke from the start. Its failure won't change our lifestyle our gaming, or whatever habits. DF was totally irrelevant.
Imagine a flood in a remoted farm deep in the jungles of a remote world. Crop output destroyed. What is my alternate? What do I turn to? Nothing. No Change. I never expect to eat anything from that farm. We will be sorry to see the crop destroyed, we will watch and work out how that flood comes by, it is due to mismangement (for DF royal screw up)?
Life is as usual for those of us who detested DF. NO need to work out alternate. Period.
Its easy to understand, if you put DF in its rightful place, and that is the trashbin.
