It has a pci-e x16 slot and only 305 watt power supply. can someone please give me a link(newegg plz) to a decent graphic card that would work on his computer. Budgit: $60
Ty and please help.

Depends on the games. Most likely he will need a new power supply with any new GFX card.
He wants to play games like Lineage 2 on max settings.
I'm sure there must be some cards that are good and run on 305w.
What GFX card is he using now?
dell... if its bought in 1 piece might actuly have probs if u buy sumthing new .. same crap allways with dell.. ask him to buy a good pc..
Just want to make sure I read that right. $60 for a video card is not going to get you much.
You could go with this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150346
Probably the best card you can get close to $60.
But I would personally not recommend going below an 8800 GTS which is $99 after a mail-in rebate.
Edit: I forgot to mention that you will have to upgrade his PSU for both of these cards. They both need at least a 400w power supply.
One more edit: I checked New Egg again to see if there are any cards that would work for a power supply under 400w. For anything that's going to give better performance than the on-board video he's going to need to upgrade the power supply.
"There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer."

He doesn't have money to upgrade the PSU. Will a 8600 GT run good on 305w? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130297
Oh, and he has onboard now.
the 8600 requires at least 350w minimum @22a, thats just for the gpu not for anything else like other hardware and such

your friend needs to save his cash for a few months and buy a new computer.
Well you might try something like this click but I have no idea if it runs on that PSU. My advice would be to use that money to get a decent PSU, maybe 750W before buying a GPU. I assume your mate bought this PC pre built but have heard how some companies will make it really tough to upgrade without buying a new case so you might want to find out the situation with that.
Myself, I'd rather eat broken glass whilst listening to deathmetal and having someone banging rusty nails into my kneecaps than purchase a prebuilt system from one of those manufacturers. However tell him to look into buying a PSU first as the one he has isn't going to do the job if he wants to upgrade to even a half decent GPU in my opinion, maybe he'll need to buy a new case first then PSU then GPU?

You dont need 750w to run an 8600gt. Tell your friend to replace his PSU with a $40 500w PSU just to get him by ! Your looking at $100 bucks in an upgrade and thats cheap! However if he can mow a few lawns....get the 9600 gt...
EDIT: your buddy might want to start saving up some money!
I'm sure his 305w will run the 8600GT, as many proffesionals said it would on tomshardware
Sure it'll run the GPU, but what else has your mate got? What are his system specs, either way I stil say he's playing Russian roulette with his rig.
