NA players giving feedback to devs

hardwarem13hardwarem13 Member Posts: 4

I was just wondering, how open will the developers be to suggestions posed by players in what is clearly a tertiary market (at best, as far as NCSoft is concerned), based on the timing of the game's release in North America? For example, I don't know if this is something that Korean players prefer, but the lack of a camera swivel using the left mouse button, as well as instant-cast spells interrupting autorun, are two minor but very annoying "features" that make me feel as though my hands are tied.

Hopefully these issues will be resolved when the game is finally released in North America, but it's very disheartening to know that they are still in the game after all the OB testing.

I'm sure  when the NA/EU forums go up then suggestions can be made to the NCWest offices which will compile a list of stuff to be changed and sent to the developers, That does not nessecarily mean that they will implement those changes but they do read what the player base does suggest.

There is already a left mouse button working, it is called middle button:p(not sure if you realized that or if you prefer to use the left mouse instead). However i do not believe you can make the camera go free look, instead of chasing your back while moving.

I have also noticed the interrupt issue, it is not just with instant spells, it also happens at the end of some casting spells (you get "stuck" just after you are done casting a spell, for about 0.5 sec to finish the animation), but there are some instant spells that do not interrupt movement at all (like the mage spell that roots a target). So i do not know if it is intended or not, i could see it as being a way to balance things, some melee abilities also trigger it. If you play street fighter for example you will get vunerable after you perform a certain attack, say a fireball, again not sure if this is the design they want to go or not.

Free look only works if you are not moving using wasd or autorun, which leaves only if you use your mouse to move. So use your mouse to click a far off distance and you'll be able to freely look around you while you move. There needs to be more options in this regard but I'm sure they will come in time.

    Chinese client = version 1.0.

To put it in perspective, Korea was running 1.0v way back in Nov-Dec 2008.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

So do you mean these issues are not present in 1.2 ?:)

I think that's just something you have to expect when tryin a new mmo.  When you make a switch you have to be open to the newness.  You gotta keep in mind that it isn't the last game you played.  It's tricky because things become so ingrained into you that getting used to new settings can be rough but as long as you stick with it, old habits will wear off and new ones will take their place.
