That is surprising.  I thought it would be $20.  Where did you read this?

  • rathmarathma Member UncommonPosts: 3,786
That's an outrage. It's going to cost me over 20 bucks a month when most of the "big" updates will come in an expansion i have to buy. You know SOE will barely give any real updates to the game. Hmm... They schedueled jump to lightspeed to come out soon about a year and 2 months ago, how is that expansion doing? Oh right, it's not out yet.

So 3 months costs more than 1 month 3 times... Interesting. Wonder what brainiac came up with that idea...

Woohoo...Spend two more pennies on the 90 day subscription!! Thats a deal!!! Where do I sign?

Edit - seems some dont know the meaning of tongue-in-cheek, its sarcasm, people...lol

I can see it now. WoW releases pricing at $13.99/month...

  • TaskyZZTaskyZZ Member Posts: 1,476

More is more, anyway you look at it.

If they have 200,000 subscribers buy the 90 day ticket, they end up with $4,000 more dollars.

There is suppose to be a discount for giving them your money early, not a charge... They get your money early, they get to collect interest on it, invest it and make more money, use it to further development, and inflate their profit margin for the onvestors...

The amounts might be a small typo, maybe not. It seems ballpark, considering I Paid SOE $14.95 (x3) for almost a year and a half with SWG... ugh

What he didn't tell you, thats for the game card. Nothing yet on regular sign up fee for using bank/credit card.

If ya have any info please tell us.

Yeah it is the price of the 90 day game card, not the mothly plans, the 3 month plan will probably be like 42.99 or something similar.

Maybe...but it still seems crazy that they would charge more for the 90 day card than you would pay if you bought three 30 day cards. Someone at SOE wasnt thinking.....Or maybe they were.....lol

Well, that did it! i am going to go ahead and pre-order, was worried it'd be like $20 a month, but hey, even it is, i'll just buy game cards

not bad, Id like to see it cost less, but $15 is fine

  • jayheld90jayheld90 Member UncommonPosts: 1,726
im sure thats the price they will use because if they made it more for using a CC....everyone would just buy the gamecards, lol.

I kind of suspected that it would be $15 or so. Lately that number has seemed to become the industry standard. Good to finally know at least. (although I don't know why some of you guys were worried it would be $20, too soon for another price jump)

If it's all they say it is, people would easily pay $20 a month. But as long as they keep it under $50 per 3 months, it's still well within the average gamer's budget.

YESSS!!! $15 bucks is an awesome price for this awesome game. Definitely worth every cent. This is actually the average price for new released MMORPGS. So its not over-priced nor under-priced.

  • herculeshercules Member UncommonPosts: 4,925

Actually i suspected a 17.95 for the game since SoE has always been the first to do a price hike.

EQlive was first to raise it from 9.99 to 12.95

SWG was first to raise from 12.95 to 14.95

Usually they start other companies follow suit.

So its great to know we will not have another price hike.

I think the pricing has more to do with the flood of mmorpgs out there. Keep the price at what people are now used to paying and more will flock. Someone earlier said i can see WoW being 13.99 dolla lol i can see that now also.

15 dollars aint bad guys, but still a lot, but I am willing to pay, EQ 2 is definitely worth it.

Great, had my fingers crossed as to not pay $20 or more... $15 is a relief. image
