LFGame: Decent Offensive Mage
Trying to find a F2P MMO with a decent dedicated offensive magic class. Most MMOs I've played of late have their mages set up wierd, using alot of protective and restorative magics but fewer offensive spells. Either that, or they think the mage should use a sword or bow, like TCoS (Wtf? What happened to staffs?). I'd also like the mage to be ranged, as in, the standard attack is a magic-based staff attack, in the style of Archlord or Guild Wars. Any suggestions?

Odd, I've found most fantasy games to have their mage heavily offensive (including F2P). Have you tried Runes of Magic? Believe it's the best F2P out there right now too.
Lineage II has offensive mages. It's a grindfest and overrun with botters (they let you pay to bot) if you play retail though. L2 is pretty much entirely based around PvP. This is what some might consider a "hardcore" game. It has excellent graphics and can be alot of fun given the right circumstances, however.
There are private L2 servers as well, which are free to play. These usually have enhanced XP rates to cut down on the grind factor. However, these servers can be unstable, unbalanced, poorly populated, and will almost certainly lack all the features of the retail game. Still, there are a few good ones out there if you care to search.
All in all, not a game for everyone, but it does nicely fit your criteria of "offensive mages".
Have you tried Rappelz? I think the casters in that game get a bunch of spells though I haven't played it in a while.
