Grouping in Aion

chocomobochocomobo Member Posts: 2

Hi, i've been following this game lightly virtually since it was announced, and have been looking forward to having an MMO that could be as good or better than FFXI was for me.

What i found great about FFXI was the focus on grouping with others, im wondering for those that have played the Chinese version have experienced? From the very start, is grouping encouraged? not just to do instances, but for quests and to level like in FFXI by just killing mobs. Was hoping that Aion would follow the idea of FFXI with strong focus on grouping all the way through the levelling range, whilst also allowing players to quest and solo grind if they wish, albeit at a slower pace. So how exactly does Aion work? even at low levels.

Cheers in advance

i would have to say that there were a few times where both my gf and i HAD to team up to take on a couple quests...especially in the beginning because they put the mobs so close together that often times you could not just pull one, but you would end up killing 5 in a row until you could escape.  Most of the other content, i was able to solo with my pet tho.  Didn't make it to the abyss before the beta closed, so hopefully someone will post with more info..

There are "Infitration Quest" that is best to do in a large group. You have to find a Rift and complete a quest on the enemy's side.  There are also "group quest" were you have to kill elite mobs.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

It probably doesnt matter....If its anything like most of the newer MMOs you just grab the quest, dont read it, kill everything in hte vicinity and you will complete about 95 percent of them........

Grouping makes most quests go alot faster and the ammount of kills = more XP and loot for everyone. There are also group quests wich cannot be done solo. Not to mention that at the higher lvls there are mobs who run and call friends, who run and scream for help, who scream for help (screaming for help =/= running for help, every mob nearby will answer when the other mob screams for help).

Tbh ive found the Aion quests quite fun since some are intresting and different, and the cutscenes ad some "random" factor.
