    Yes I will

    1. Because it reminds of L2 the best game I ever played ( on private servers with my friends, it was awesome)

    2. Because there is nothing better out atm... ( and nothing new will be out before the launch of Aion)

    Polls are fun

I will be playing Aion because it looks great and supposedly is the most polished game since WoW.  Plus the pvpve focus looks fun.

I will buy it because visually I've been in love with the design since I saw my first screenshot. I'm looking forwards to the crafting and questing. The story and world are very different then most of the big budget games out there and that alone is worth quite a bit to me.

As a pure PvE player I am apprehensive about the rifts, while it sounds totally fine but I want to see how it will work over here. I hear rumors of heavy mob grind after level 15-20, I hope it's just because these people couldn't understand Chinese/Korean... I love quest grinding to max level not so much mob grinding.

Other then that it just looks so cool. :P

There is no grinding, if you play the game properly...trust me.

I will buy Aion because I've played the Chinese open beta with some friends and enjoyed the hell out of it!

Btw, to the grind issues people braught up due to lack of quests in a certain level range was fixed with Koreas 1.2 patch adding heaps of more quests, xp spots etc.. I wasn't able to experience this as Chinas Open Beta and release was still 1.0

NCsoft has stated in numerous posts that the US version wont release at 1.0. That doesn't mean we'll be patched all the way up to where the korean servers will be at come release but I atleast hope we'll be at 1.2+

    I will buy Aion.

It's the best theme park MMO out IMO, it's polished, has good content, everything works, and it has many things I dig, such as the art, the combat, the feel of the game and the animations.

Quest grinding is still grinding in disguise, but if it makes you feel better to think you're not grinding, then good.

i'm definitely buying Aion the day it's released in NA.

I'm currently playing on the chinese servers, and so far i'm very entertained. i can't wait to see the game in english with, hopefully, some cultural changes here and there that better suits NA players.

    only aspects i don't like so far;

the UI isn't *as* customizable as i'd like it be. -i want to be able to break sections up and lay them out wherever i want to.

mouse options are non-existing. -can't invert, can't pan the camera without changing direction. (unless u use click-to-move)

can't toggle flight. -need one key to spread wings, need another to fold them back. should just have one key to toggle between.  vertical climb during flight needs its own key as well. it should just be tied in with the jump key.

can't swim in water. an aspect of the game which is weird, i always enjoyed swimming underwater to kill or gather with breath-time looming over my head. maybe theres a buff later on that allows swimming, another ingame goal to strive for.

can't think of anything else atm..

If you do all of the quests from 15-20 will be fine, however it is when you reach your mid 20's is when the quests start to run thin. Do take into accord that the latest Korean update will add a lot more quests for the "null" levels and should even everything out.

As for the poll, I have already pre-ordered and will be playing the day of.

While I do think that the question is kinda silly in the Aion forum, Yes I am planning on buying Aion.

Reasons are graphics, NCsoft reputation, flight based combat, and amazing character design.

I don't think I will be buying this game when it hits US retail.  I managed to get a hold of the Chinese retail, and have been impressed by what I've seen so far, but I'm not sure the game has got what it takes to hold my attention.  I'm sure others will find this game amazing, and it is, but it's not my cup of tea.  I prefer sandboxy type games, not themeparks ><

Going to buy the game cause it has alot of originality (like well done flying combat) ,very nice graphics that do not ask of you to time travel into the future to get a better comp, very well done animations ,stances ,world.

To simply put it,it's the only MMOG that impressed me in 6 years.

P.S playing chinese Aion atm,soo im not baseing my oppinion on vids or what others said.

If I were to buy Aion it would be after the NA release and a few months down the road. I have decided after Warhammer not to buy any games on release. I want to see what the over all reaction to the game is and what growth the game has after release.

  • madeuxmadeux Member Posts: 1,786

I anticipate buying Aion, but will not do so until I'm given the chance to play a free trial.  There are just too many garbage MMO's out there that look pretty and promise all the features I'm looking for.  I'm not about to throw away money like that.

  • UbieUbie Member Posts: 185

I will surely be purchasing Aion mainly because of NCSofts' track record for relatively polished games (ie Guild Wars, CoH). Hopefully Aion will get me by till GuildWars2 is released.

I'm going to buy AION when it comes out for the NA/EU market.

I've been playing it for a month or so now, and I'm enjoying both the visuals of the game and the gameplay itself. It's like WOW with a different setting.. I also know several others that plan to pick it up when it comes out so that is also a big selling poiint for me - playing with friends and acquaintances.

    I won't be playing this one for two reasons;

    1. The art direction is not at all appealing to me.

    2. It's NCsoft, I haven't enjoyed anything that this company has produced to date and I don't think that's about to change with this one.

Yes I hope they'll implement swimming soon, seems sorta silly not to have it now :(

I'll worry about whether or not I will buy Aion when the game actually has a release date.

No I wont be buying it.

I don't support NCsoft and while Aion may seem somewhat appealing to me (it is a beautiful game graphically) there just isn't any type of hook for me.   I'm looking for something fresh, and new, from combat to progression to pvp and Aion wont be delivering that for me.  If NCsoft weren't behind it I would probably give it a free trial run.

       No

        1. Dont like  the (Asian) over the top combat animations or graphics

         2. Dont like NCSoft

         3. Dont like my weapons to look like Giant Vegatables

          4. Dont like weapons to look like Giant Tuna Fish Sword

          5. Dont like everyone sprouting wings out of there backs..

           6. Dont like the Sound...

                             Not much to like here

Here's how I look at it, if you're tired of playing WoW, you'll be tired of Aion after you first experience what flying is like...or after character creation. Yes, they are that similar. It's not a bad thing to some people, but for the ones who want something NEW, Aion doesn't deliver enough. Flying combat is just not enough to warrant the game being a WoW clone...which IS what they wanted to do, and they succeeded. This game does have potential to have more subs than WoW, I for one, support that.
