I'm an employee at Best Buy and I decided to search at work for a hard date to recieve WoW. Up to now 11/15 had been speculation and blizzard could add an extension to beta any day, but I was able to pull up a date. Considering the distribution for the game must set up vendor relations they have to give viable dates...etc. Any way at Best Buy we have a shelf stock date of November 16th. That isn't pulled from a list with expected release dates, thats pulling from our retail stock system that is set in stone for all of our stock/products.
A month away and probably two-three weeks of beta to tide us over and get geared up.

Which will it be...EQ2 or WoW?
Oh~~ Amen~~
Brilliant!!
I forgot that major retailers like Best Buy and Wal Mart have hard stock reset dates.
This would make sense, since "Black Friday" is the following week.
Do you know what the last viable stocking date is for your company before they "lock down" for Christmas?
I'm sure Blizzard already knows the date. Besides, this is no longer the old Blizzard; this Blizzard is a subsidiary of Vivendi.
The game will go out WHEN Vivendi says it's going out, warts and all.
The issue here is that the major retailers have set dates for when new items get stocked on the shelves, which are called resets. If the product is not in their distribution centers by that date, it doesn't get stocked. Wal Mart and Target are very strict about this.
If the product is not there for the holiday reset (before "Black Friday"), it may not get put on the shelves until after Christmas.
Also, the circulars you see in the Sunday papers are already being finalized for the Christmas season. If WoW wants to be featured in one of them, they had to inform the retailers of the release date. The last thing a retailer wants is to have an advertised product not in stock.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
The information posted concerning stock dates and such is accurate and very informative for those not in the know. While it is expected that this is a flyer date , there is every possibility that Blizzard is about to pull off a surprise. They are going through massive updates in the next 2 days after which it is very possible for them to announce the open beta. If they go open beta soon Sony better watch their P's and Q's because WOW will seriously make a dent in the available market - shopping extravaganza or no. Personally I'm just waiting at the moment to actually see what happens. I fully expect Sony to sit back and pretend that Blizzard isnt in a position to get the product out to people - Which in my own opinion would be some mistake on Sony's part.
Sony may have a chance of turning some people back to them. If they let Blizzard grab the market, they wont get the kind of response they think they are going to get. People will settle down to one or the other, and if its WOW then Sony will just have to be content to be second best on this go around. Sony also needs to be looking down the road with the up and coming Vanguard Saga of Hero's and the Still viable D&D Online. Saga of hero's is presenting themselves as the 3rd generation of MMO's and if they can pull it off Sony is going to sink quick. The other item to consider is that EQ1 is turning out very quickly to be a dying cause - if 40% of there current 300k or so subsrcibers leave for WOW that is gonna smart considerably - it would be a whole lot better if they are gonna loose these people that they should loose them to their next upcoming sequel EQ2.
Just my 2 cents worth.
