Several times he swings at the Mahi, even though the guy is no where near him. That tells me he's not synced up very well to the guy.

You've got a guy in full gear losing to a guy who's naked, with a bad connection.
The guy that lost didn't do anything dif. from the dwarf; so you can't really say he was bad. He actually managed to hit the dwarf quite a bit; so it's not like he was missing considerably more.
What a shock. One guy is using a pole arm, the dwarf, and the other is using a two handed sword.
Keep this in mind.
The armor the Mahi was wearing looks exactly alike on every other race. On another Mahi you're indistinquishable from each other.
Each guy is using the exact same abilities.
If this had been two of the same race, the only dif. between them would have been the melee weapon each was using.
There is next to no diversity among characters. From appearnance to skills to fighting, you're pretty much exactly like the guy next to you.

To both, in a MMORPG you decide what action you character should do, and then, the game calculate, based on your CHARACTERS skills, gear and some other appropiate mods if the action is successfull or not, but YOU are not the one that made the action success
So, as Adventurine sell their game as a MMORPG, you need to evaluate it as a MMORPG, and, as a MMORPG, Darkfall is garbagge

Unfortunately, Alanako is right. Go play ultima, and all those old day RPGs, before internet and MMOs emerge. Go play might and magic. Your personal skill in LMB clickfest does not matter, b/c there is no mouse. There is only keyboard, and all combat are turn based. In might and magic, the combat stops when it is the turn of one of your team members to cast or melee or shoot. That is RPG. MMOs only make it more fluid, that is b/c of the bigger CPUs. Technically, it it still the character (as a sum of his stats, influenced by gear, buff, debuffs and other game setting such as global factors) that is doing the combat, or craft or what charm (as in talking, then charisma). Take the simplest case of crafting. You click your craft is either successful (100% for WoW) or critical success (33% or so in LOTRo). The personal of skill of the self-proclaimed Einstein is irrelevant. Try diplomacy in some games, where charisma is a statistics. Do you think the game factors in the obnoxious personal character of you, into the game and decides on the outcome of the dice roll?
FPS is another animal, using a totally different code set, and of course based on totally different design. Marrying FPS to MMO does not yet work well, the quality of the community aside. If it is true FPS, there should be no character "progression", as in a normal MMO, no stats. Gear would contribute, sure, but that is strictly gear. Shooting with a pea shooter and an MP5 does make a difference.
Stop pretending you are bigger with those insulting words. You are totally wrong, you have no idea how RPGs work in those days, and apart from insults, you have no contribution whatever to the argument. WoW is actually a pretty solid implementation of the old RPG style in modern day 3D pseudo real time action setting. Trying to insult it? How about build a superior game to WoW? Until then, I see only a sour loser, hiding behind a Einstein picture and avoid looking at the mirror. True loser.
