BridgeKeeper: Stop! What... is your name?
Arthur: It is 'Arthur', King of the Britons.
    BridgeKeeper: What... is your quest?
Arthur: To seek the Holy Grail.
BridgeKeeper: What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen Gryphon?
Arthur: What do you mean? Persian or Sumerian?
BridgeKeeper: Huh? I-- I don't know that. Auuuuuuuugh!

Yes, we know they are not real. I am just stating simple facts concerning the antiquity of the image. Hell, its basic art history stuff.

Not only is it free, but there is only a set list of locations to fly to from each tower, there is no level restriction, and as far as I know, no racial restriction.

If they can hold my troll butt, they can hold anything.

They're a nice way to get around, but I'd like to see them changed to require you to physically go to the tower to be able to access it, much like it is in WoW. But I guess some people just have no interest in seeing the world. For what it's worth, I liked travel in EQ pre-Luclin, so this is somewhat disheartening, though not anywhere as bad as the PoK books.

You guys will argue over anything!

It IS a griffon damnit! One stopped by my hummingbird feeder in the backyard to drink not even 2 nights ago! And it looked just like the one in the screenshots, I mean...hell, I thought it was a real picture for a second.

    So enough already...jeez....

WHA !!! I dont know if i agree with this whole griffin riding idea. Yes it is fantasy like, and yes it sounds cool. But does anyone else think it takes away from the realsim, aka the feel of everyone around you has the same vulnerabilities ?

  • DoomsayerDoomsayer Member Posts: 344

    uh, no.

Everyone can ride them. Regardless of race/class, apparently.

So what's that got to do with everyone's vulnerabilities?

Still looks like a griffon. At least a stylized one I see in posters, and paintings. All I want to know is when the griffon is flying over cities, does it aim for the clean horse and wagons??? <we gonna need a bigger bucket>

Good Lord-- Griffons?? What were they thinking...and did anyone look at the size of the heads on them ? How are you going to keep the feathers out of your mouth? You thought the horse head was annoying to try casting around--wait until this Great big HEAD is in your way. Also, i have enuff trouble trying to walk along a straight path-- Now I've gotta learn how to fly a Griffon...I hope helmets are allowed in EQ2, if not--get them Gnomes to work !!

No worries, I don't think you going to be able to meditate, cast from a mount.

it's not player controlable, and you can't do anything while airborne.

I was afraid of this, after the very extensive creature pet options in SWG I was hoping for better. Oh well, thx Cold for the info. At least my fur won't contrast with it... hehe  image
