i think the term WoW player is silly to make. Basically you are asking if people can run this on a low end computer and that answer wont be available until the company itself releases the system requirements (usually after beta testing).
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds -Solid non level based game -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Right.
I'm asking for speculation.
Looking at the cell shaded graphics... and considering the scalability of CoX...

how "low end" are you refering to?
Since there's no official response, I guess it's hard to judge. However a friend runs it on his dual 1.8GHz and GF7600

Does it run well?
1440 * 900, probably about 30-40fps with the settings around the middle.
But he shuts down everything before playing. No antivirus, spydoctors, etc etc etc... I'm sure it'd run far worse on a computer running a full Symantec Suite or something.

I played it a bit on this older PC, 2 gigs ram, 7900 Gforce and 64 dual core proc...and it ran pretty chunky. I didn't get to try it on the better PC.
OF course, it is so early that a lot of that sluggishness could be tweaked out and adjusted. It did look cool, so I am looking forward trying it on the better PC.

Down? What do you mean "down"??? I want to scale it UP, not down! That graphics is low enough. If you scale it down you can skip the game altogether...
down... pfsht... *mumbles to himself*...

Graphics scaling down is important, because graphics and lag are major reasons for the "failed" launches of WAR, AoC, V:SoH, EQ2, and just about every other mainstream p2p game to come out since WoW.
The graphics need to scale down to be playable on a low end machine so the game will have a market for WoW's customers and gamers in Asia and South America.

I would believe you could probably scale it pretty low... Cryptic once said they were looking to make the game as accessible as possible, which to me means high scalability... of course you could always play it on the 360. I don't think you'll get very good performance playing it on a netbook ... and if you're trying to play it on a pentium 3 I don't think it'll keep up either...
Will wow players be able to play CO? CoX scales very well. I'm hoping CO does too.
I thought "WoW player" meant "lowest denominator"?
If you're asking if there's spoon fed content with only Path A to chose then anything other then WoW might not scale to them.
If you're refering to the minium specifications of a personal computer and trying to get an idea if a 8 year old machine would play Champions as well as it would WoW, probably not, but who knows.
One thing is for sure, the graphics absoslutely scale upwards to current tech on the market. Some of what I've seen looks absolutely amazing and apparent that players with high end machines will be able to get what they want from the graphics.
Just so we all know, the cell shader outline is a toggle but strangely I seem to get better performance with it on. I'm using 2 pretty old cards, Nvidia 8500 512mb x2 in sli, and can play it well. There have been improvements to the performance with each play test so I'm pretty hopeful about the finished product.
There is NO miracle patch.
95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.
Hope is not a stategy. ______________________________ "This kind of topic is like one of those little cartoon boxes held up by a stick on a string, with a piece of meat under it. In other words, bait."
Sometimes there are just no ways around it. People will have to eventually upgrade their pcs. Chances are if you can run AOC or Aion then you should be fine. I'm sure there will be a way to scale down if people need to.

If you can't play mmos at lowest settings its really time to upgrade or get a new computer.
Its the best time ever to upgrade. Videocards, memory, and cpus are cheaper and more powerful than ever, along with other components.
