actually you have it backwards. The EQ community and most online communities tend to hate the ones who talk like that. You can get away with it more in PvP games but even they have alot of players that will stereotype you for speaking that way. You can even check out the EQ forums, im sure theres usually a thread somewhere about leet speak. there are alot of prejudices people have in EQ, and online games in general, from how you talk to if you ask for money or other items. Its all how you present yourself in any game, if you do it right, i guarantee people will help you.
Anyhow, i guess thats part of the problem. Most noobs that are asking for help are usually begging for something, thats been my experience in EQ at least. there used to be just so many beggars in that game i think older players automatically started to tune them out at some point;

just curious are you like 5 yrs old?
if your trying to attack me for just trying to explain why people dont get help when they ask for it, you really need to grow up little boy.
maybe you should stick with Pokemon and Dragonballz, you might find you have alot more in common with people into that stuff

ummm maybe my point was lost on some of ya. Basically if you need help in any game, its all about how you go about it. You dont talk in leet speak asking for help, nor do you ask rudely, so if your not getting it maybe its you. If you dont want to change your approach then dont expect help. I never said high lvl players dont scam others, not sure why they'd try and scam a noob since noobs generaly dont have anything worth scamming for.
The one thing i do know when i used to play EQ was there are alot of people who have alot of prejudices. From the way you speak, to what class you play(peole generally hate Druids), etc. and i'm sure they play a part in why your not getting much help. There are definitely some very snobby online gamers that expect alot out of everyone else, and i'd say there are alot of EQ vets that are that way.
call me crazy but i really like swg. and im not by any means a star wars fanatic. i just like the fact i can take a couple weeks off to try another game, and still get things acomplished in swg(i.e. make money) or even better, i just recently went back to swg and the whole first month i build up a 10+million bank from scratch, withouth killing one thing.
im all for combat games, but i think its pretty nice being able to do other things for a change
