    meh.......

you can chose to play law enforcement, or criminals, half the players can be cops, half the players criminal, in a fictional city.

Sorry guys, I'm from Detroit, rated the most violent city in the United States. If you come here you will learn that the police are just another gang, and the gangs collect "protection" money, and enforce the laws on their own turf. The gangs have their enforcers, and informants. You pay them protection, they spray paint a gang symbol over building access points, anyone disrespects the gang symbol and breaks in, they die. Simple and effective quest system.

So, who are the "good" guys and who are the "bad" guys. It all gets kinda blurry in the city.

Hope you take all that into consideration, and allow the police to shake down people for "protection", rob, and murder too.

Oh, and how you gonna add that special, "freeze in the winter, die in the summer, seventeen kids next door without a mother" role play feel? And in the background, you gonna have bad boys bouncing to the boombox beat, with backdrop sirens? Are we gonna be able to swagger like gang bangers?

Otherwise you might as well add elves, dwarves, and hobbits.

PS: Please don't confuse me with someone who cares (welcome to the city).

From the FAQ: "APB will carry other conventions of the MMO genre, although details are still being ironed out at this point."

Err, what does that mean? Is this game still in the early conceptual stages? Will we be expected to pay a monthly fee just for visual customization options, are they still trying to figure out how to justify a monthly fee, or what?

Seems to me, the main convention that people pay for in an MMO are goals they strive for and get to hold onto. Doesn't have to be levels, could be wealth - assuming the game has anything worthwhile to spend it on, from equipment to property, but I haven't read about anything like that. Am I just missing something?

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
