I trashed Aion yesterday...not only did I trash it I poured zippo fluid on it, stuck a match and did a vulgar Tribal dance around it's charred carcass.
What can I say, I was expecting....different, some sort of intangible hype I created in my own mind by watching the videos. I was angry it didn't live up to "my" expectations. So I uninstalled it, and got nasty on the forums. Then I calmed down...could it have really sucked that bad? Did I give it a fair shot?
So I reinstalled the game (thank god I had it pre-down loaded) Started a whole new class( because the male scout is about as masculine as Richard Simmons at a Truman Capote festival) , and started the game on a what’s broken what’s not broken what’s fun and what’s not fun objective.
And I have to say the game is solid, it looks awesome (those of you who are saying it doesn’t look like the movies need to up your video card or boost the graphics settings) The game play, skills and character management is intuitive. The story is actually not the worst I have been part of but the biggest question is it fun? That's a hard question to answer...I think Aion has the potential to be a lot of fun with the right group of people.....but it would have to be the right group. A typical WoW guild would not be the right group of people, a excellent FFXI Linkshell would (and if you don't get the differences between the two you are beyond hope anyway) Aion could very well be the game dejour have a sizeable loyal following, but I don't think it is going to attract the non-social player.
So do I like Aion? Yes I give it a solid Four out of Five stars.
Will I play Aion on Launch? More than likely....I will probably play Champions more as they are releasing at the same time, but that is a personal taste thing. I do think Aion will really strike a cord with Female players my wife and every other Angelic devotees are just enraptured with the game it seems. I think those that are quickly dismissing the game should play around with different classes and approach the game with an open mind it juts might surprise you.

An open minded review of a new MMORPG? You will be burned at the stake for this, my friend. Of that I have no doubt.
I'm glad you're enjoying yourself!!
It's nice to see people actually admitting they may have gone overboard and a rarity on this site. I appreciate people not liking the game and saying why in a manner that isn't obviously silly (like the music score sucks when it's one of the best ones I've heard in a game....) and keeping in mind what it is that they are playing, see Aion beta boards.
Have fun!!

Actually, it is not a bad game. I just have one questions without starting a new thread. Is there a bank in this game for your items? If there is a bank I can't find it.
you can buy more invintory
There is a bank. It should be in the main city.
Yes there are banks, there called Warehouses. Theres item storage for the single toon your on and a few bank slots for the entire account. (shareable storage for all your toons on that specific server)
Great post, this made my laugh. People are a little disillusioned with the whole genre at the moment and going into a new MMO with preconcieved expectations will only lead to dissapointment (not having a go at you OP).
One of the rare times a user will publically admit they are wrong and give another game a shot. I applaud you for that, especially knowing how these forums are for anyone who praises any said game.
My advice is still the same, tho. Wait until your mid 20s to really base your decision. If it's fun now, you'll have a blast then.
