I'm not going to say too much now as I wish to honor the NDA, but from what I have experienced thus far Aion is exactly the MMO I was hoping it to be. I wanted it to be something to transition me from over 4 years of Warcraft to. I've tried over the last couple of years with Age of Conan, Vanguard and Warhammer, and none of them had the polish, the flow, or the feel of what we liked about Warcraft. I feel Aion is the first game to come out post-Warcraft that has the same type of smooth gameplay that we have grown to love over the years.
People here seem to be hating on it because a lot of things are the same, but I for one am glad that they are, because most of the games that tried to be different didn't do so well.
So flame all you want, it doesn't really matter. So long as the PvP is engaging, and some sort of end-game is established, Aion should have no problem building up a dedicated and loyal fanbase. For those of you who were not impressed, perhaps you need something new away from the fantasy MMO's, or maybe you are just getting burned out on them in general.
