It's probably not a record (well, definately not) but that's pretty damn good. Was talking to a buddy about this today, sounds like they had a blast. It's things like this that make me want to stop playing Mir and go back to Darkfall, I will do one day. Now is not the time

Always hating on instances in MMOs! Open worlds, open PvP, territory control and housing please. More persistence, more fun.
If you want a lot of players in a battle or on one server id recommend Lineage 2... even private servers holds up to 9k+ players online with server being normal load. The real ones... Sieges with 2k players fighting for example, its awesome i promise you.
Sorry i just have to say this... 800? ROFL WHAT? The Largest Lineage 2 servers Cap at 6,000 concurrent users. Sorry to burst your bubble. However yes, there are some servers where castle sieges involve 2000+ people in one siege area.

Either way; where did you find that information and what is it dated to? Lineage 2 has developed pretty much those years you know (ive been playing it more then 5 years now starting with closed beta). Also note that i didnt say that was the official servers.
Darkfall just hit a new record, 800 players in one area with no lag. Shadowbane comes in close second, up to 200 with no lag, 600 with no server crash. Has any other game accomplished this feat? www.youtube.com/watch Name your game, with proof, that its had more than 800 in one area with no problems.
There weren't 800 players involved in that siege. It's unlikely there were even the 200 you posted about in your other troll thread (linky...). You're full of fecal matter.

L2.ru (Russian Official) and Lineage 2 Korean have the same server cap (6000). However, L2.ru and L2 Korea have 5000+ during prime time, where as L2NA has around 2000 to 4000 prime time.
As far as I know, Lineage 2 Private server never really break the 4000 mark, some do but not by much.
800 players???? I cant see 800 players, where the hell is the proof???? Jesus christ anything can look like hundreds of people in an area. Hell 2 full grps of 40 man raid in wow can look like hundreds in one area. This video dosnt show anything.

That's not in anyway shape or form a record. It also, is completely un-proven fan nonsense.

I guess we should talk about private servers here either if their legal or not but im right;
A private Lineage 2 server has hit over 6000 people online (some rumour it to be a 9000 person cap) in a seamless world...but the SQL and game server are each close to $10 grand in hardware.
Also anyone remember when they did that stress test event on the test server and they didn't put a pop lock on the island and there was like 3000 people in that battle. I don't know if it was lag free cause I was using 56K at the time as my brodband went down so I had a very very high ping.
Wish more companies would do something like this before they release their products. All MMO's I have beta tested over the past forever have never had any "real" stress tests like Planetside.
The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Could you tell me what server that is? PM or w/e i dont care.

Am I the only one that gets a bit lost when there's more than 50 or 60 people on the battle field? In UO it was easy to handle large scale battles because everyone just color coded their capes or robes. In newer MMOs, I find that I get lost in a sea of colored name tags and highlighting that completely detracts from the battle and, at times, gets ridiculously confusing.
Not at all, in fact I've noted that I get confused when there are more than 2-3 teams in an area, everyone going in different directions. I'll often end up following the wrong group and then have to try to figure out where my team went.
sorry bored after 3 mins.but its no where a record. lineage 2 probably has the record but from personal experience before planetside made a population cap on continents years ago we had a battle over a SINGLE base with total of 1500+ players which was confirmed on command chat by a GM.Mind you it did lag for me but thats twice the number you claim as record. So no record for darkfall sorry

An example of a bigger Lineage 2 raid + pvp for the raid. Sieges are bigger often but not recorded due to fps dropping. : X
