Combat Question ?

For any of you believers out there that have a subscription and have made it past level 20.  (preferably Mage Types)

I want to know how your enjoyment in the game has changed since starting, and how you feel about the mages survivability?

Personally i have had some difficulty staying alive since I hit 16, play style seems like it drastically changes here and my enjoyment well lets just say, I am wondering why I purchased a subscription.
