Return/start up DDO?

Back in 07 i tried the trial of DDO with a few friends, it was a love hate experience. The combat system, the dungeones, the whole party experience with my friends was AWESOME. But the only thing that really blew up in my face and made me end up not subscribing was the desolate population and some quests were just confusing making it hard to level and eventually ragequitting. But now the time has come again, now i WANT an MMO to play, i have been hopping around games like crazy recently, currently playing Vanguard, and I am just wondering if DDO has potential ATM for beginners to start the game? Also if any vets have any pointers on where/how to level.

It is a very hard question to answer, I always find it easy to find groups, but some people find it near on impossible. I would suggest you try another trial, sign up for the F2P beta or wait for F2P to come out when it is very likely to be very busy at low levels.
The starter area is now soloable and redesigned so worth a look just for that.
